I kept meaning to update on all the good stuff, but between weekly travel, grad school, being a full time caregiver, and A'Tuin, good intentions were just that. Unfortunately, we might be dealing with a new tumor, in his left hind. I've written a blog update, and included a link to pictures of the punch biopsy. I should get the results later this week. Cancer sucks.

Hopefully, the links work, and I hope everyone else is doing well.

A'Tuin's story can be found on my personal blog along with a dash of my life and poetry.

I said goodbye to my puppy love on 5/15/14 after more than tears years of the greatest love I've ever known.

Wow Kat, how weird, I was just telling someone about A'Tuin today and the soaker catheter post-op pain relief method your vet uses. It must be the Universe sending out little notes to us all to send A'Tuin lots and lots of love and pawsitivity.

I don't want to think the worst. Most times the lumpies are nothing, and I hope with all I've got that this is a B9 lump. We all do.

Meanwhile, how wonderful that things have been going so well up to this point... may this be nothing at all, and may the hoppy times continue for a long, long time.

Keep us posted OK?

Thank you both. I will definitely keep everyone posted. Right now, A'Tuin is laying on his back hogging the entire bed, so I think he's doing alright :)

Awwww.  Love that visual.  Thanks!  Keep on smiling and loving.  We're here and waiting for the update.....

~ Katy & Jackson

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

I wrote all about it here, but the short version is that the mass wasn't a tumor, but it was caused by one in his distal femoral head that wasn't visible three weeks ago. I made the decision to let my dearest puppy love go today, I just couldn't stand to see him in anymore pain, and the only options left were palliative.

A'Tuin's story can be found on my personal blog along with a dash of my life and poetry.

Oh my dare Kat. I'm so very, very sorry. I'm jist sittinghere shakng my head in disbelief.

As we've shared al, the wonderful victories for A'Tuin, we share your heartache and we cry withnyou.

As hard as it was to help him crossover today, it was a courageous act of love that A'Tuin knew he coudld contn you to give him when needed. And he showed you today, he needed that gift of release.

A'Tuin has handles this whole journey with such grace...such a "laid back" attitude...such a "Spirit of Dog" energy and attitude.

I jist wish I could say smething to ease your pain, but I kow that's impossible.. I love the sentiment you posted at the end of your blogpage today. When you can, Perhaps you can repeat it here in case others missed it. It was a perfect tribute to a perfect dog, a perfect love, a perfect team. The oicture you posted of him was so lovely. It realy did capture his gentleness, his cntentment, his beautiful enlightened soul.

Please do stay connected withmus. We understand the depthofnyour sadness...the void...the loss...the day to day routines that no longer exist...the loss.

I'm sorry to hear about Captain...yet...it looks like the Universe knew exactly what it was doing by having Captain with you AND A'Tuin today.

Please try and take care ofmyourself. A'Tuin knows you'll be sad, butmhe needs to kowmyou will be okay...because hemis.

Sendingnyou love andnhigs.
