My pal Calpurnia has a question for you;

How long did your fur take to grow back after surgery?

Here is a photo of her, four months post op. Cali's human, TC, says:

Cali only has fuzzy undercoat, but the longer guard hairs are few and far between. I wonder if it has something to do with the chemo she had before surgery? She doesn't have much more fur than she did 4 weeks post op. I'd love to hear from others if they have had similarly slow regrowth. It doesn't seem to bother her at all.

So tell us, how long did all of you tripawds take to get furry again? It took me about four months until my fur grew back.

We have a little bit of an ironic hair situation going on with Darcy!

DarcyImage Enlarger

She has lost a lot of hair after a bad reaction to her final chemo but the place where she has the best hair is on her surgery site!

My 10-year-old Rottie, Presley, has been losing clumps of hair for a couple months now. Sometimes when I pet her, I think she's going to be bald when I'm done because there is so much hair coming off of her.

After surgery, we tried one round of chemo and a slew of different supplements, and Presley's fur was sooo soft and thick. In fact, her fur had never been that soft or thick before.

But little by little, her skin has gotten dry and her fur started coming out in clumps.

Her surgery site is still bald after almost five months post-surgery. She doesn't seem to care one bit about her fur not growing back so I try not to obsess about it too much.

The thing that worries me is the clumps of hair coming out. She's never had this before, so it is very strange.

I'm back with more furry news!

Darcy (who's pic is shown above) lost even more hair than was shown in that pic and was completely bald in some areas.  Now though, she's all hair covered again but it's growing back jet black (as a deerhound puppy would be!) and is smooth in some places and almost curly in others!!
