I updated our blog with more details; but basically... his legs are clear, no tumors showing up on the xrays near the legs, no problems with bones or joints.  We also went ahead and had chest x-rays done.  The lungs look good.  But there are three masses in his chest that we don't know what they are.  Maybe swollen lymph nodes; maybe something more ominous.  Our family vet is sending everything over to the oncologist; but he isn't sure if the oncologist is in the office this week.  Hopefully he is and I'll know more tomorrow.

Here is the link to the blog update:

Jac and Angel Spencer.  Spencer was 5.25 years old. He fought a grade 3 fibrosarcoma, started on his shoulder.  Left front leg amputated in August 2011.  15 weeks of chemo finished 12/22/11 (mytox and adria).  Lung mets found on x-rays 12/28/11.  Started carboplatin 1/6/12. Went to Heaven on 2/27/12. I miss him like crazy every day.  See his blog here:  http://spencer.tripawds.com/

Ok, paws crossed.....try to focus on the positive feedback you got and put the worries about the other stuff aside until you know more. Remember, we can't worry about things we have no control over at the moment.

Easier said than done, I know. Hang in there, we hope you get an answer tomorrow. Keep us posted.

Just finished reading your blog. And I agree with Jerry: focus on the good news that you received, and try not to panic. And as Jerry said, that is easier said than done. Hopefully this is just some weird little thing going on in there that can be easily handled. Spencer will definitely be in my thoughts; please keep us updated on anything you learn. Sending positive thoughts your way!

I'm sending good thoughts for Spencer.
It's always really scary when you don't know what you are dealing with. I hope you can see the onc soon and get some answers.

Sending the best of prayers out for Spencer and you.  Remember, you won't know anything until you know it, so put it aside if you can right now, for your own health and well being.  Sammy and I have experienced lots of lump scares.  I now have a couple of large ulcers and gastritis because of all the worries.  So I can say this, for your own best interest, try and focus on a positive update, give yourself a few minutes to worry, then put it aside.  You can't do anything about it at this moment, so send out all of your best thoughts and hopes and prayers, then go do something else for awhile, like a walk, or yoga.

It is imperative to manage you stress and worry better than I have before.  Now, I am trying to not hold it in, but do something better for myself instead of internalizing the stress. You should .ook at what is causing you fear and stress, then release it.  It is hard to do, but this ride isn't an easy one, so finding better ways to manage worry is very important for everyone.

Best wishes,

Elizabeth and Sammy

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us.  Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.

We will be sending you lots of pawsitive healing thoughts your way....just as everyone has said, focus on the good news you have (which sounds very good) and try not to worry about something that hasn't been confirmed yet, as hard as that is.  We all have had these fears and can totally understand.  We will keep our paws crossed that you continue to get good news on Spencer. laugh

Kami, Angel Mackenzie

My sweet golden Mackenzie.  She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2  although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home.  She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009.  She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes.  I love you Mackenzie!
