Hi Connie & Maddie!

I'm late to the discussion, but I can't tell you how glad I am that you're here.

My very first post here in the community had "terrified" in the subject line. Yes, I'm here to tell you that it is normal to feel that way. If it weren't for the wonderful people here, I think I probably would have not slept for weeks. These guys are important. I'm striving to be one of them and am here to tell you, it will get better. Then it will get worse, and better again. Eventually, you'll get good at riding the rollercoaster, but by then, Maddie will have her sparkle back and you'll be able to breath normally again.

Dang . . . I just took a deep breath myself. Whew!

We're here for you!

Connie & Maddie, please know what you are feeling is NORMAL.  We all have gone through the same thing.  We all have doubted our decisions, we all have had those sleepless nights.

Tripawds heal differently.  Some will be up and walking immediately, others take a while to adjust - both are normal.  Some react to the meds, others do not - both are normal.

The first week or two are rough as you both learn the new normal.

One day it just all falls into place and you know all is well.

Sending strength for you and healing thoughts for the new tripawd warrior.
