hi tripawd family!
tomorrow we hit our 1 week in tripawd life! Sadie is doing so wonderful. Thanks for all your kind words and help this last week!! A couple questions..
1. Sadie wants to jump on couch, but we aren't letting her. When did your tripawds start jumping up again?
2. We have all tile in our home and right now we're totally covered in rugs and carpet pieces! I know this is jumping the gun, and right now we are no where near ready to remove rugs but...did your tripawds eventually do tile again? Is it safe eventually?
3. I can't for the life of me figure out how tupload pics. I'm using my phone - is it easier on a computer?
Thanks all!! Happy Tuesday from Sadie & family
Hi there sugar bun 🌺
So happy to hear how well Sadie is doing 😀
As for your sweet girl jumping on the couch, it is still early days after surgery ...
You want to prevent any injuries happening so better to help her hop on and out of the couch or better still avoid it altogether for the time being.
As for tiled floor, I’m afraid it is better to keep traction in place for ever ...
And you will find out Tripawd babies will always choose to hop where it is safe opposed to slippery floors.
Sending you a big hug and cuddles 😘😘🐮💫✨🌟🌹
Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4 May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30 Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)
Hoppy Ampuversary Sadie! We are so glad to hear things are going well. Congrats!
1. Sadie wants to jump on couch, but we aren't letting her. When did your tripawds start jumping up again?
The problem with jumping up, is they have to jump down and you really want to minimize joint stress that happens on impact, especially for a front legged Tripawd (the carpal joint/wrist takes a real beating). Try a set of pet stairs and train her to use them. It's a much gentler way to have your Tripawd on the couch and bed.
2. We have all tile in our home and right now we're totally covered in rugs and carpet pieces! I know this is jumping the gun, and right now we are no where near ready to remove rugs but...did your tripawds eventually do tile again? Is it safe eventually?
Slippery floors are a hazard for even the most experienced Tripawds. Traction is key to avoiding injuries. Sure, they'll try to walk on slippery floors and many do, but the strain of trying not to slip does their body no favors. If you can create a long path to her favorite spots thoughout the house that you can live with, her body will thank you over and over again (and you will be happy to avoid more vet visits to diagnose muscle pulls and strains).
3. I can't for the life of me figure out how tupload pics. I'm using my phone - is it easier on a computer?
You can do both, but I'd say it's easier on a computer. Here are instructions for uploading images to the Forums. PM me if you have any questions OK? We can't wait to see them!

Do people have success with the traction booties? We bought some, but haven’t used them yet. I know dogs don’t like wearing things on their feet, but once they get used to it they might be better off, right?
It all depends upon the dog, and the type of boots. Don't miss many posts about boots in the Tripawds Gear blog . Especially this one:
How to Introduce Your Dog to Wearing Boots
Search the Hopping Around forum for much more feedback from others over the years too! Use the Advanced Search above to refine your forum search results with specific phrases, and you're sure to find lots of helpful topics. You can also search all blogs here .

Whyyyyyy did i not think of booties?!? I have a rare baby who actually loves wearing clothes and even booties when we go to the snow and for walking here in AZ (aka the surface of the sun!) thanks for commenting!!
OMD!!! To see that despicable thing from Fubucket makes my skin crawl- No, you can't use Fubucket to host yiur pictures here unless yoij pay secrral hundred dollars a year. We jad hundreds and hundreds of pictures here replaced cirtually overnight with that ransom note from Fubucket.
Others will come along and give you detailed instructions on adding images . And yes, the instructions for techie stuff here are based on what the computer screens look like, not what tablet screens look like...Tavlets are a whole different animal.
HAPPY ONE WEEK AMPUVERSARY SADIE!!!😎😎 ICE CREAM AND CAKE FOR SADIE!!🤣🤣

Roger that, unless you pay for the premium account which allows third party hosting.

Affirmative, media uploaded to free Tripawds Blogs will always be there as long—as we know it is there (by publishing at least one blog post or upgrading to a Tripawds Supporter blog .)
