If your Tripawd or other companion animal is suffering from degenerative arthritis, stem cell therapy may offer hope. This article explains how it works.
Veterinary Technician Brandi Hale anesthetizes "Max," as Veterinary Doctor Pat McInteer prepares to do surgery to remove fatty tissue as a source of stem cells, on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in Lincoln, Neb. The 13-year-old chocolate Labrador retriever has the heart, blood and soul of a youngster, but unfortunately, the joints and bones of a senior citizen. That's why Dr. Pat McInteer, a Lincoln veterinarian, chose his best friend as his first patient for the procedure that uses Max's own stem cells to regenerate damaged tissue and ligaments. McInteer used adipose-derived stem cell treatment developed by Kentucky-based MediVet America, a veterinary science business. Awesome! They have been doing this with horses for several years now with great success.
Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.
Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.
We have a friend with an older arthritic dog who had it done, and the procedure did wonders to give him his spunk back!

No kidding?! Spectacular!
ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
