My pup, Prismo, is about 12-13 with osteosarcoma and a front leg amputation that’s about a month old. He’s doing pretty well getting around but every once in a while he falls and lands right on his cheekbone. In the house is bad enough but when he’s out on concrete? I can’t imagine how painful it must be.

Ive tried finding any head or facial protection online but nothing seems like it would protect where he’s falling. Does anyone have any suggestions that might help? Even if I need to try and create something myself…I just want him to be able to walk without smacking his face onto the hard ground.

TIA

Welcome Brittany and Prismo. Your future posts will not require approval.

I definitely understand your concern - poor Prismo! I am not aware of any kind of doggie helmet that might offer protection (but that doesn't mean it's not out there...). Have you considered rehab therapy? Maybe Prismo would benefit from some strengthening. Tripawds will reimburse for your first rehab visit .

That’s awesome! I’ll have to see which rehab areas around me might help him. I’m the meantime, maybe I’ll need to become a little crafty and design something myself.

Thank you!

Brittany, yeah I agree, and really recommend getting a rehab therapist to evaluate him asap. Most Tripawds have a period of slipping here and there but not so constant. It sounds like he could really use some tuning up and they are the best folks to help do that. If you cannot locate a therapist near you please PM me your location and I'll try to help. Please keep us posted.
