If you are frustrated when your veterinarian won't discuss CBD for your dog or cat, please keep in mind that there's a good reason for their reluctance. Dr. Dressler explains in this excellent article:
CBD Oil, Dogs, Cancer: Why You Haven’t Heard More About It

This is a great topic to bring up - for the most part, vets aren't ALLOWED to voice their opinions on treatment with CBD oil. It's only recently become regulated in many places, and it's not all created equally. You have to make sure to do your own research on what products may or may not work well with you dog. For example, we tried one CBD oil formulated for pets from a local shop. The dogs did GREAT on it! We then won a complimentary bottle from a reputable source online, but the ingredients didn't do so well with Ziva's tummy this time and it caused some diarrhea. Unfortunately CBD, hemp and other cannabis products are unable to be studied legally in this country - so the topic remains controversial. CBD isn't a miracle cure and it doesn't work for everyone, but it's a great natural alternative to consider in my opinion
WOW!! VERY INFORMATIVE ARTICLE!!! JUST WOW!!!
As Ziva's mom said, it's up to is to do our research.
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
I haven't read the article yet but I had an appointment with a holistic doctor today, Dr. Gary Richter, and he was telling me about a company that makes Cannabis specifically for your animals needs and they give you exact dosing instructions. I haven't had a chance to look at their website yet but I am going to. The site is http://www.rightratio.com.
Just an fyi for anyone who might be interested.
