ALERT: Tripod looking for a foster home:
My most urgent need is finding a foster for a young boy named Kipling. We pulled him from CACC on Friday. I did not expect him to have his leg amputated yesterday so soon after he came out of AC. This was not my decision but now has become my responsibility. He is doing very well after his amputation but is in dire need of a foster home asap. I am not sure where I can put him otherwise. He is an adorable VERY LOVING boy, just 9-10 months old. He just wants to cuddle. Do you know of any foster homes who can help him during this recovery time? I cannot put him just any place.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Ha! My first thought was Christine, too!

I have a PM into Heather to see if she has any more information than is on the website (where they actually have another Tripawd as well). Nothing could happen next week anyway - I can't take off and I will be working really long days. No way a dog in that first week of recovery could be left alone that long, especially in a new environment. And it sounds like the immediate need is a recovery home.
I also have three cats, one of whom thinks he is a dog and has been desperately looking for his pack, so any dog that moves in must be ok with cats. I have to admit that I was looking for someone over 2, thinking that an adult dog could more easily slide into the lifestyle that Tess, Otis and I had. So, will wait and see what I hear from Heather, will see if I hear more about Gator this week, and might call the rescue directly thereafter.
Will just have to see what is meant to be here.
