… I would be more then willing to take this dog here at Saint Francis.
Thank you Deborah! Looks like Sebastion would be taken care of well in your hands.
We may be almost half way there … now that we have a potentail home all we need to do is get Sebastion to the border, and process the necessary paperwork. We could then transport him.
Marty: Can you let Andes know and see if there's any progress in coordinating paperwork and transport?
Please contact me at my email for Saint Francis Animal Sancutay mailto:mparke11@aol.com
Hang tight everyone. Marty is in Chile this week but is still trying to get a hold of Patricia.
As of today, Marty is waiting for Patricia to discuss the paperwork that needs to get done. It is our understanding that so far, St. Francis is the place Patricia wants to see Sebastian call home.
We'll keep you posted.

Also wanted to add that according to Marty, Patricia says she can get Sebastian to the US/Mexico border and it will take about 5 days from Mexico City.

Everyone, we have some good news about Sebastian!
We were just given the OK to post this news from Patricia, Sebastian's Foster Mom:
"Thank you very much for writing. Please let everyone in the blog the latest news of Sebastian.
A French woman from Metepec, Toluca (a beautiful town located 2 hours outside of Mexico City) wrote me because she and her family want to adopt Sebastian. She has a beautiful house with more than 1,000 m2 ; she also has 2 rescued dogs and 2 cats. I have already told her about Sebastian's special needs and how dedicated the family who adopted him would have to be. I have also told her about Saint Francis' interest in adopting Sebastian and that I just had these 2 options, Metepec or Saint Francis. I asked her to discuss with her family and the maid about how "special" this adoption would be. This is what Fanny answered me:
"Hi Patricia:
After talking with you, Ilan and Chloé (my 2 kids) asked me: So what did Patricia say? Then I explained to them about Sebastian's physical problem and his special needs and that they would have to give Sebastian special care and attention. Ilan (8 years old) is worried about being hurt should Sebastian live only a few years. Chloé (10 years old) doesn't see any problem, she agrees with the adoption. Lalo, mi husband, is worried that Sebastian might bite one of us. Roci, the house-cleaner, agrees and doesn't have any problem helping Sebastian.
I definitively think that we can offer Sebastian a loving and beautiful home. I'm sending you my 2 dogs' photos (they didn't vote but I'm sure they won't have any problem with Sebastian because we have taken care of a Black Terrier on 3 different occasions while it's owners were in France and the dogs have shared the house without any problems. The cats "have set the law" with the dogs since they arrived and share without any problem the house; besides, the cats have their special entry door to the house, in case Sebastian is not comfortable with them.
Paty, depending on what you have decided, please let me know if my family can go to Mexico City to meet Sebastian.
Have a nice day,
Fanny Vinet

(Patricia continues to write. . .)
"Fanny is member of an ecological Group in Metepec, the town where the family lives. The idea is that the family comes to meet Sebastian at the Vet Hospital and try at least for 2 weeks in order to evaluate the reaction of all the family and Sebastian.
I would like you to give me the chance to see if this adoption could work and that Fanny, who will adopt Sebastian, could be in touch with the owner of Saint Francis in order to receive advise in treating Sebastian because of the experience they have with similarly physically challenged animals.
I hope that with all these, the adoption could work; if not, please consider the possibility that Sebastian could go to Saint Francis in Ohio. Sebastian and ANDES (the Association I lead) need very much of your help because unfortunately, inMexico the dogs' situation is very hard and difficult and we have to do much efforts in order to complete our mission with dogs.
Regarding to the adoption fee, we do not have one. Our only wish is finding loving and caring homes for our dogs. All our dogs that we give up for adoption are sterilized, vaccinated and deparasited. With Sebastian´s particular case I feel responsible for finding a loving and caring home for the rest of his life.
I would like to thank all of you the interest shown for Sebastian. I will inform you about Sebastian new home in Metepec. If adoption doesn't work, I will ask you again for your help.
Sending you kisses and hugs, Thank you for loving and protecting animals."
Isn't that great! Let's all keep our paws crossed that this works out well for Sebastian. Thank you so so much Patricia, Fanny, Marty, and all of our awesome tripawd family who instantly jumped in with generous offers of assistance and support to help this very special pup. We will definitely keep you all posted.
