Our friend Sandra, Luna's Mom, just told us about this beautiful Tripawd and her best friend Deputy, who are now available for adoption in Florida. They are so cute together! We hope you or someone you know will bring them into your family. Take a look;
Here's Sheriff; and here's DeputySheriff is a very pretty, very capable three-legged Boxer. She is missing her back left leg, why we do not know.
Sheriff and Deputy were fostered over Christmas by a great foster mom. She wrote this about them..
”Wonderful dogs- very sweet and loving. They love to wrestle together which is so cute to watch. They prefer to be in the house, or wherever the people are. They are housetrained and didn’t go in the house even once. Deputy is more subdued but Sheriff is a bundle of energy and very curious. Deputy loves the hard chew bones and can spend hours on one. Sheriff just buries his. They love to play fetch but it's better to play with them separately or else Sheriff dominates making it no fun for Deputy.
Their only flaw as far as I can see is that they are not good with cats. Its hard to tell if its just curiosity or playfulness but they do exhibited the “pack” mentality with cats –ganging up on them, cornering them and then who knows ( I did not let it get that far). They can not be left alone with cats. "

Here's an update on Sheriff and Deputy from our friend Sandra:
“I just called the “pet rescues by Judy” group to get an update on Deputy and Sheriff (the tripawd). I learned that Sheriff was adiopted last February by a couple with two dogs and a cat. The couple does rescues and had taken Sheriff home as a “foster” pet until someone adopted him, but they evidently decided to keep him and he got along with their other animals, so he has a forever home now! This is great news!
As for Deputy, he is still looking for a permanent home. He is older, and has some arthritis, etc. They had tried to adopt them out together (because they found them together), but Sheriff was a bit too young and energetic for Deputy, and although he didn't mean to, his play was too rough for Deputy, so they decided that adopting him out by himself would be best. “
