How great to find a website made up of people that have such huge hearts!!!
My tripawd dog died when she was 17 years old..............I was 15!!!!! All of my young life was spent with the most perfect dog that a person could be lucky enough to have..........she just happened to have 3 legs.
The animals I have had, throughout my life, have all been from rescue operations. We have 3 draft horses and 2 miniature donkeys - they all came from very bad situations and several were on their way to the slaughter. The little stray dog that we share our life with was found filthy, starving and cold ......... she had horrible burns all down her back and both her front legs had been broken and not set. She has come through like a little warrior - her scars have healed and she has a very unique way of walking.
I am hoping to find a tripawd puppy and we have a great home to offer him/her. I know that there are lots of older dogs looking for homes, but I am REALLY, REALLY hoping to have a puppy. I don't mean to sound selfish........it is just that all of the dogs I have had in my life have, as I said, been rescues and none were under the age of 4. I would also need it to be a smallish puupy that can manage without a wheelchair . Our home has several levels (only 2 or 3 steps between the floors) and would be impossible for a pup in a wheelchair .
My husband is a Cardiologist, here in London Ontario (which is pretty close to Toronto), and we are fortunate in that we are able to provide a comfortable life for our animals and guarantee that they will always have the best of care...........lots and lots of love and all of the costly care that a special needs pet might require.
I truly hope that the fine folks that follow your website might have a Tripawd puppy we could welcome into our home.
My own email address is alexandrabaker23@hotmail.com if you choose to speak to me directly (please mention that you are from Tripawds in the subject line of your email). I will, of course, keep checking the website for responses as well.
I am including a small donation today for a truly wonderful organization...........thanks for listening and I hope to hear from one (or more!) of you soon.
All the best,
Alex
Alex, thank you so so much for joining us here, and your kind generosity. What a wonderful surprise!
How neat to have had a Tripawd dog growing up! Do you have any photos you can share of the two of you?
We hope that we can help you find the perfect Tripawd puppy for your family. Your home sounds absolutely wonderful, without a doubt, any animal would love to be a part of it.
There has been some Tripawd puppies that have come through here and been adopted. If you subscribe to this topic, you'll be notified whenever a new Tripawd comes our way. We are constantly searching pet rescue sites to find three legged dogs available for adoption, and whenever we learn of one, we post their story here.
Almost all Tripawds don't need a cart to get around. Usually, only senior dogs with pre-existing leg or hip conditions need them. As you know, Tripawds can pretty much do anything that a four legged friend can do, and then some!
As soon as we hear of a Tripawd puppy, we'll let you know. And likewise, if you happen to bring one into your family, please share with us, we'd love to hear more!
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts. Kind souls like you make the world such a beautiful place.
Best wishes always,
Rene, Jim & Spirit Jerry
