Hi everyone,

Adopt a Three legged chihuahua puppy

We just heard about this cutie pie from our friend Adrianna in Mississipi. Please spread the word so he can find a good home, quick!

One of our amazing animal control officers in Harrison County, Mississippi had picked up this poor guy off the side of the road. He had been hit by a car, and was seriously injured — his rear right femur was fractured.

Thanks to the AWESOME veterinarians at the Humane Society of South Mississippi, we were able to stabilize the limb for the night. He had his surgery the following morning, where his rear right limb was amputated (you can see where it's healing up pretty good in the photo).

He was immediately placed into a foster home with a vet tech from the shelter, where he received much-needed TLC and socialization. The foster momma brought him back up to the shelter so that he could be vaccinated and tested for heartworms, and unfortunately, like so many other pets down here, he does have heartworm disease.

We estimate that he's about two years young, and we've already taken the liberty of neutering him. :) From what his foster momma tells me, he isn't too fond of cats, and is a little stand off-ish around males, though he does warm up to them after some time. He gives very soft kisses, and loves to be loved on.

Adopt a Three legged chihuahua puppy

He is a true beauty in our eyes, and a very strong little pup! If anyone's interested in adopting him, my contact information is below. He is being adopted from the Humane Society of South Mississippi.

He'll be microchipped, vaccinated for 1 year, and he'll come with 30 days of ShelterCare pet insurance. Let's hope we can find him a good home!
