In our continuing efforts to improve website performance here at tripawds.com, we are upgrading the Simple:Press plugin that powers these forums. This is a major update with a streamlined core which means a few things will be changing...
The appearance may be a bit different, though we will do our best to match the current look and feel of these forums to minimize the impact of this change.
There may be a period during which the forums are locked, offline, or undergoing changes. Stay tuned for notice of scheduled maintenance.
After carefully weighing the benefit of certain features vs. the extra load caused by their required resources, we will be removing certain functionality.
Features being removed include but may not be limited to:
- User Watches (Topic Subscriptions will still be available.)
- Topic Tags (Proper use is rare)
- Topic Status (Currently only used in this tech support forum)
- Custom Profile Fields (Please use biography field for additional detail)
- Quicktags, bbcode and HTML post editors (TinyMCE WYSIWIG editor is current default)
- Post Reporting (Never Used)
Yes, we will keep the Private Messaging system, and it should be more responsive and easier! Feedback regarding use of these other features is gladly welcomed.
As with any major upgrade there are sure to be some questions and users may have a bit of a learning curve for understanding the improvements. Please use this topic to post related concerns. Or start a new Tech Support topic with questions about any specific functions you feel we should address in detail.
We expect this update to result in a vast improvement of forum performance. Thank you in advance for you patience, and thank you for your continued support!

We need a moderator to help troubleshoot an issue that is delaying our forum upgrade here.
Please visit the Tripawds Test Site Forums and use the Admin Queue to approve a post awaiting moderation.
Please note that we're running an older database there so your password may be different if you've changed it in the past year. Newer moderators may need register, in which case we will make you a moderator so you can help test this issue...
- Posts are not being approved when when approved from the queue.
- User is not being redirected to topic when post is marked as approved with go to topic link.
- Quick reply is publishing but post is not getting marked as approved.
Anyone who wants a sneak peak at what's coming for these forums and the Private Messaging system can have a looksie here.

Just an observation - but are you missing your favicon? (Or am I missing your favicon?) I have to have my favicons!

She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.

We have not yet updated these forums. The test site is running the new plugin where we are hoping for some feedback regarding the admin queue issue for moderators. But thank you for asking!

Right, as I mentioned above, the test site is running on a much older database. Any newer members who wish to help us test things over there would need to register if they are not recognized as a user. I will then gladly make them a moderator if they want to troubleshoot the Admin Queue issue. Thanks for trying!

Ignore my favicon question (it was in regards to your current site).
I just realized I deteted my Temp files and most sites are missing them. Maybe when I shut down my PC, they'll come back.
I'll help you troubleshoot - but you don't have to make me a moderator!

Because you already are a moderator over there, for now. I'll just need to make you an admin, and then a moderator again before you can use the queue to approve posts... long story.
