It's me, your angelic Comet having problems.  BuTT, I think you may have fixed it.  I know it took 4 of you and that's so swell of you!

Let's test-er out!  I think she is working now!

I think it's OK- but a question:

Is the list still 'padded'?  I seem to get a max of 15 lines now.  Also- when I read posts sometimes the red flag turns off, and sometimes the line itself goes away.  I'm thinking its because if there are more than 15 topics with unread posts waiting (but I only get 15 lines showing) then when I read one the line goes away and the next unread topic line rotates in.  Once there are less than or equal to 15 topics with unread posts then the red flag turns off and the line stays- so there are always 15 lines showing.

I don't feel like things are disappearing before I read them.

That's all that matters! laugh

Your thinking about the list is exactly correct. It is indeed padded once again, so once it shows the latest 15 posts, but if you only have a few unread, the flag will just disappear. If you have more than 15, the topic will be bumped by the next unread.

Thank you all for your patience. In anyone interested in getting the Page View option (and unread count) back for unread topics... assuming it doesn't break things again?

It was nice to know how many more unread topics there were available to read, but that was just my preference.  I am ok with or without it, so I guess we will just have to wait and see if others like it before you re-implement it...

Hey, I don't know if this is a moderator thing or not but those little green arrows are so neat-o!  Has anyone noticed them?  You can read the last post without clicking in!

Everyone sees the first and last post arrows which will take you to, well, the first or last post in a topic. The tooltip text showing an excerpt is a new feature we were excited to see too. Glad you like it! Now, back to the mucking...

OK- I don't want you guys to get bored...

It seems that the red flags 'turn off' even if I have not opened the topic.  The line is not disappearing- maybe because of the padded list ( I think this is why I stared this topic originally).  There are several forum/topic lines with new posts in the list tonight that I know I have not opened since the 'Last Post' time, and a couple I have never opened, but the red flag is off (for example- I KNOW I have never opened: TRIPAWD PARTIES, Calling all Michigan Tripawds, and there is a post from this morning, but the red flag is off).

I can still kind of keep track of what I have read because the lines are not disappearing.

I know, I know, this can not possibly happen...

Now of course everything looks fine.  I am on my computer at work and all the red flags seem to be displaying correctly.  The red flag is showing even the TRIPAWD PARTIES example I gave above- and I still have not opened it.  Of course there is a new post there since last night.

Perhaps it is just me...

Mr. Admin

Just so you know-

The red flags still seem to disappear rather randomly- I KNOW I have not opened a topic- but the flags go away.  Just now I was writing a post and when I went back to the main page listing the Topics with Unread Posts ALL the red flags were gone.

I don't think topics are dissapearing before I read them- so this is not as big a deal as before when the topics were going.

I just though in your spare time you might need a project....

Gremlins are apparently still running amok. We'll look into this. Hope to do some more housecleaning around here soon. Stay tuned.
