In case you missed the recent Tripawds Foundation
news announcing the need (and expense) for our pending server migration, now is the time to pay attention–especially if you have a Tripawds Blog! 
Attention All Tripawds Bloggers:
The Tripawds Blogs Community is moving to a newer, better, faster, more reliable web-hosting server. We will be doing our best to ensure the migration occurs as quickly as possible, and we do not expect to encounter any issues or downtime for the website. This move, however, will affect any content posted to the blogs and forums. In short, anything posted to the current server during the migration process could be lost during the DNS propagation period–technospeak for the time it takes for nodes round the world to be updated with the address of our new server. This can take anywhere from 1-4 or up to 36 hours depending upon your location. Still with me? Good. Therefore...
The Forums will be locked down and publishing will be turned OFF on All Blogs starting at 10:00 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2018.
No new posts should be published, and no new media uploaded to your site during this time. Links to the Media Library and Blog Post or Page Editors will temporarily be removed from all sites. Do NOT use any bookmarked pages you may have for these tasks! Posting anything to your site during the migration period may result in that information being lost, with no way to retrieve it.
Regular publishing access will resume for all members once we are certain that all users are visiting Tripawds on the new server. An admin notice will appear with any updates in your blog dashboard during the migration period, and links to upload new media or publish new posts will return as soon as possible.
We estimate that operations should return to normal no later than 10:00 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018.

Okay, so all pictures in the media library will still be saved, right? We'll just have new directions on how to retrieve them for posts qnd how to add new pictures from our gallery to our media library, right?
Since no one can post in forums for anywhere from 1 to 4 to 36 hrs can you make a really big banner alert saying to call TRIPAWDS HELPLINE for help while all this is going on?
Last, but not least, I don't know squat about "severs" or what their function is, but I sure hope this new server is tavlet and android friendly!!

Likely no more or less friendly...nothing should be noticeable, except for anyone who may find away around our attempts to prohibit posting during the small window of opportunity while propagation finalizes...sorry for the big words–while the innerwebs work their magic.

Another question to hopefully not make you roll your eyes... I am seeing this all for the first time. Sally's hotline thingy is great too.. what about the chat room
? Will that be shut down? Just thinking that if it is still open maybe we can post something about that too so we can keep up on all the new tripawds out there? Just asking.. *ducking and stepping back now*

No. Good question!
And no need to duck...you bring up a valid point, and we'll add a chat link to the notice.
The Live Chat will remain active on both servers during the migration. Since it only stores the most recent 25 posts, any data lost will be no big loss...technically speaking, IF any users are in the chat room at the time of DNS propagation, they will continue chatting without any issues whatsoever. Only after their local DNS routers have fully propagated, they may notice their recent comments missing, or that they have been logged out, and only after the page has been reloaded.
Short Answer: No.
