UPDATE February, 2020: Instagram now supports oEmbed technology, so to make a long story short: do not need Copy Embed Code to share images from Instagram in your forum posts here.
1. View image or video on Instagram.
2. Copy URL from browser location bar.
3. Paste URL on line by itself in forum post.
The photo will not preview in the editor but will automatically embed once post is saved.
NOTE: If Instagram photo/video includes an URL in the item description, embedding problems may occur!
So...copy URL of Instagram Post, paste in forum post, save...like so:
Any questions?
As of 02/18/20, the following instructions no longer work – keeping them here in cast that changes...
To add Instagram content with Embed Code:
NOTE: This method can be temperamental since code includes scripts and style tags that may be blocked.
1. View the photo you want to share on Instagram.
2. Click on the bottom right dogs on the corner of the image.
3. Choose "Copy Embed Code" from the pop-up box.
4. Return to the Forums and select the HTML tool icon as shown below.
Paste the embed code on a line by itself in your forum post. Save post, and that's it!

The exact same process should work for embedding videos from Instagram...

So COOL! I love using Instagram for photos!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Instagram supports oEmbed technology, so to make a long story short: you do not need to Copy Embed Code to share images from Istagram in your forum posts here.Adding Instagram Photos is as easy as:

So this is what I did do, but the video will only play when someone hits the link. I thought this was normal, others don’t seem to think so?!
am I doing it wrong?

Good question.
For the record, using Instgram embed code is always going to be temperamental because that code includes javascript and numerous style tags and inline style parameters that may be getting stripped out when posted.
We would need to compare the embed code from both to see why one works but not the other. Do both include the link to Stewie's blog in the description? That may be mucking up the works. #wildguess

Just testing some thing for y'all here...
FYI: Attempt to post IG embed code for this video results in:
Unable to save
This post is rejected because it contains embedded formatting, probably pasted in form MS Word or other WYSIWYG editor

Attempting to let oEmbed do it's job - pasted IG URL on line all alone, without using any embed code (video has URL in description)...

Okay, fair enough. Thank you.

When I ‘copy link’ from Instagram it doesn’t give me the opportunity to see it until I post it here in a thread. Let me see what I can past and copy here for you...
the first one here will be Stewie’s video link...
https://instagr.....HyXhClNIs/
The second one is Chester’s video.. I will do that in the next post as I have to copy the link and I don’t want to lose this thread...
Using IG URL for video with no URL in description...

Well that explains that...looks like including an URL in the IG description causes embedding problems!
What is oEmbed you ask???
Instead of using any embed code, paste the URL of the IG photo or video on a line by itself and find out!
Open Embed will automatically embed content from other sites like Youtube, Vimeo, Soundcloud, WordPress and others. It looks like Instagram has jumped on the bandwagon.
FYI: IG URL not actually included in this post, screenshot for demonstration porpoises only.

When I ‘copy link’ from Instagram...
Do not "copy link". Do not "copy embed code". Do not pass Go, yet...
Highlight and select the actual URL from the browser window.
And, it looks like that may be exactly what you did, and meant. According to tests tin the past few posts we believe that didn't work, because that particular video includes an URL (link to Stewie's blog) in the description.
