Today, i cannot get into one of the many drafts i have saved. It just ceases to load.

I have cleared cookies and cache, cleared cache on the blog, cleared thru the hummingbird pro. That is all i know how to do.

Where all this code is coming from is crazy. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I have MANAGED to get rid of code by taking hours deleting the nonsense; the blog is slower than Moses, and thank heavens it is auto-saving, or i would have surrendered by now.

Any suggestions or Admin magic up your sleeves would be most appreciated.

I am frustrated with so many GREMLINS at Purrkins Palace;)

THANK YOUsmiley5

Holly that is crazytown! OMC I'm really sorry. So let me get this straight: they come out while you are composing a post, or after you save the draft? When exactly do you see them appear?

I just created a draft post on your blog in Chrome and that didn't happen.

Have you tried using an alternate browser or just Safari? Not that you should need to but I'm just trying to field some questions I think Admin will ask you so he can pinpoint the issue.

Sorry for the hassle! Thank you for pointing this out. We WILL get it fixed.

Welcome to crazy town, YES! 🥺 i address when below:)

I just created a draft post on your blog in Chrome and that didn't happen.

Have you tried using an alternate browser or just Safari? Not that you should need to but I'm just trying to field some questions I think Admin will ask you so he can pinpoint the issue.

I have Safari, Opera, and Firefox, and no, I did not try the others until this a.m. I was only using safari, and again, I'm still in a haze! I did not think to use a different browser, duh. (SORRY)🙄 not like me🥺

I was not able to open 2 of my drafts yesterday on safari

this a.m. On Opera, i CAN open the draft.  (draft -Hazey Daze -23 January 2021) PHEW - it was full of the same crazy jibberish, i was able to clear all the code with Opera a lot quicker anyway. (meaning highlight and delete) PHEW! I saved the draft and will go back to work on it later.

After reporting here yesterday, I started yet another post - I suspect what's going on with the code crazy-  it is photo gibberish code or a link gibberish code- that i have pasted into the post. (note  I have done that in the past  with no issue)

I can compose fine looks as they should, words, links, or images.

I save the draft, and then the code craziness appears.

I tried firefox on the other draft ( Carbon Monoxide in the Home -Superhero Purrkins), which I could not open at all on safari.

I can open it on firefox, and it's full of code b.s; it appears it is from images; best i can tell? I left this one be in case Admin wants to take a look and can confirm.

I will compose another draft and NOT paste anything and see if i can ensure this is the issue!

Sorry for the hassle! Thank you for pointing this out. We WILL get it fixed.

Thanks, no rush i am trying to get the blog current to date.  I have a few that are good to go now.✅ I would hate for this to happen to someone new and abandon the blog altogether cause it would be easy to do;)

Wow. Thank you for leaving that "carbon monoxide" post draft as is. I'm using it for testing. This one may take some serious investigation.

Good question.

I need to clarify when exactly you first noticed the code appear. And what was done prior to that? It sounds like you're composing a post, editing as usual...images appear in the editor? Then when you save or preview the draft, they are replaced by the code? Or was it text and photo(s)? Videos? And, how are you embedding the images? From images uploaded to the Media Library? Via URL?

Thank you for your patience, we'll get to the bottom of this but it may take a while. Mercury has all sorts of things in store for us this time. smiley5

Will need to review your other topics later...

First was Jan 31 9:45 am, second time Feb 1 at 12:39 pm EST

Yes composing a post, yes images appear in editor.

YES replaced with crazy codes after saving draft. It all appears fine until I save draft and crazy happens.

BUT again I suspect now it was from me pasting a link into the blog?  Pasting an image url  or link although both I have done in the past. I do think this is the issue right now?!!?

I have done both as usual embedding images from the media file. Or add to the media file when composing and insert. Plus pasting URL.

Thank you for your patience, we'll get to the bottom of this but it may take a while. Mercury has all sorts of things in store for us this time. smiley5

I have patience;) Ok sounds great holler if I'm not being clear here;)

I'm sorry to be a thorn in your paw. ugh

thank you admin!smiley16

Okay, great, but HOW? From existing images uploaded to Media Library? Uploading images directly to Media Library from within post editor?  IOr inserting via Image URL?

Good point, and certainly possible. When copying and pasting anything into the post editor, much more is pasted than what you think. Whenever pasting into the post editor, be sure to paste as plain text, or you will also past whatever other styles and attributed code you have copied along with any visible contet.

We've been out all day dealing with other retrograde issues, and shall investigate further now...

We cannot currently replicate the issue, and can only guess that it may have been a temporary issue related to CDN delivery of the hosted images in the Media Library.

Please advise if issues persist. Edit the carbon monoxide post, and let us know what happens.

From existing images uploaded to Media library -Yes

Uploading images directly to Media library when in a post - Yes

inserting via image URL. - Yes

i have done all the above.

Usually, I have all the media loaded already and insert images. But sometimes, i do add an image while I'm in the post. Nothing that I have not done in the past.

I know and never had an issue before, but clearly, it caused all sorts of a ruckus this time. I've seen the code emojis, so i do understand what you mean here.

Ok, on the plain text! ✅

Sorry, you have more issues to deal with.smiley3

Thanks for clearing all the jibberish for me. I see you like Mr. P mac picture;) He is back;)

I can live with temporary for sure. CDN, I'm not sure what that means or if I need to know?

WILL DO! I will give more details if or when I see this again. And hope not to!

I appreciate your time thanks, adminicon_exclaim

Please advise if this issue persists. And if so, provide link to post draft (or post title), and note which image was inserted to trigger the gremlin code.

Apparently this issue is rather common across the innerwebs, and has been going on for quite some time... smiley5

For anyone encountering this mysterious code insertion: What web browser plugins do you have installed?

The exact code in question here is similar to many reports in various  support forums over the years. It occurs when copying and pasting content – text, links, images – from the web and pasting into the post editor. Known culprits include the Pinterest (Rich Pin) and Skype browser plugins/add-ons.

When copying content from any page viewed in a browser with these (and likely other) plugins, copious amounts of code may also be copied along to the clipboard with the desired content. Said code may also be replicated dozens of times, as has been reported here. This code may or may not be noticeable in the visual editor, or when the post/page is previewed. But it is there.

Saving or previewing such content – though it may not be seen, without viewing the page source – may trigger a false positive by the server firewall, which will throttle traffic to the offending IP address. In other words, site performance may slow to a crawl temporarily...as reported herein. Repeated attempts to save said code may result in a permanent block.

The recommended solution is to remove any browser plugins or add-ons that may be causing the issue. Otherwise, whenever pasting any content copied from anywhere into the post editor, it is recommend to alway paste the unformatted text only. This will prevent any unwanted CSS and/or other code from coming along for the ride. On a Mac, use "Shift Command V".

At least we know where thispoopicon is coming from, and that there is no serious cause for alarm.

Thanks for digging into this further, Admin! smiley16

I have not experimented with Safari again! I PLAN to i have not yet...

I know I used an amazon link on one post, and pretty confident to say the gibberish came from that link?!!  AGAIN i have done this is in the past with no issue.

I will add the link here for you if that helps. I'm using Firefox now.

Parkland Pet Portable Foldable Playpen Exercise Kennel Dogs Cats Indoor Outdoor Removable Mesh Shade Cover

I am not having this issue on Firefox or Opera ?!! I don't copy from Pinterest or have that add-on or skype.

Is an add on the same as plugins? Sorry, I'm no admin:) 😁

The only add on i had on Safari is Grammarly. The add ons i have on firefox are here.

Screen-Shot-2021-02-06-at-6.51.56-PM.pngImage Enlarger

If the images are not my own. I save the image to the computer and load it to the media library. Just like i would if there were my own.

I have never tried pasting an image that was not saved on my computer first.

The only copy and paste i have done & do are links - from amazon or other websites to insert the link into the post.

I did paste images to Purrkins blog - from my forum post-. Purrkins Mri done NO TUMORS

That would have the same image URL from the blog (make sense? ); they came from the blog initially. i am no longer pasting images for fear of the gibberish 💩pile;)

I will report back when and if i can duplicate the 💩!

The only issue i have had is the mia comment box No place to post comments on the blog -  It went MIA again on another post! But thanks to you, I now know how to fix that issue! I will have to keep checking that as i do each post.👾🛸

Thanks again, Admin. I'll report back if i have more issues & hopefully, other members will post if they have problems.
