The following are tips for all Tripawds members to help them find topics they have posted in, or topics they wish to follow:
The five Most Recent Topics With Unread Posts will always appear at the bottom of the main Forum page. This is user-specific and will show posts you have not yet read.
The Last Post column in any Forum view will include links directly to most recent Post in each Topic.
Use the drop-down menu at the top of every forum page to jump directly to the latest 15 New/Recenlty Updated Topics. Again, user-specific – topics you have not read will be highlighted.
Registered members can use the Subscribe button to receive emails every time that topic is updated. Click the Subscribe option when creating a topic, or use the Subscribe button at the bottom of any existing topic.
The Subscribed button will take you directly to your Subscribed Topics list and indicate the number of any new unread posts.
The Topic RSS button is for subscribing via RSS, for your preferred news reader.
This option is available to all Tripawds members: Forums -> Profile -> Personal Options -> Auto subscribe to topics I post in.
Your Fourms Profile includes links at the bottom to all the topics you started and every reply you have posted. (See Profile button at top of Forums or click your own avatar.)

So that is what "Watching" means. I had no idea. I'll see if it helps now that my drop down menu is gone 
The drop down made it easy to flip between topics. Now I have to go back to the main forum page and then enter another. (Yes, what a whiner I am 
)
In any case, I thought your above post might be helpful to others at this difficult transition time (ha). Just ignore the dropdown menu part, guys, unless dear Admin takes pity on us.
Okay, I am TRYING to makes things work until the day or hour when the drop-down menu returns (I can't wait!). Where do I find the 'watch' button to click? I see the 'watching' button at the top of the page. But I do not know how to get a topic into 'watch' status.

The 'watch' button is at the bottom left. You may try the RSS feed. It puts a bookmark on your browser toolbar and you can click on it and see where the new posts are and then read the ones you want. I am using the 'all forums' so I don't miss any. You can right click on the bookmark to reload and get new posts.
