So this is odd.... I cannot get on Tripawds on my laptop as of today. (It's a standard PC with no proxy/firewall settings).

But I logged into my work network through remote access since I am working from home and clearly on the internet. So I pulled up a browser (google chrome - same as when I am not remote access) and I can obviously get onto the forums. Do I need to do something or clear my cache on my laptop? It was working fine yesterday.

Thank you Admin genius!

Did you try too many log-in attempts? Send admin your IP address from your browser (not while you're logged in to your work network) and we'll check in a bit, you may have been blocked from your home IP address (I believe your work network uses a different one). On the road today but hopefully tonight he can look. Go to whatismyipaddress.com to find it. Thanks for your patience.

OK .. here's the IP address: 71.104.91.118

This is the message I get too:

This webpage is not available

ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
Google Chrome could not load the webpage because tripawds.com took too long to respond. The website may be down, or you may be experiencing issues with your Internet connection.
Search on Google

It's so odd since if I am remote logged in (on the same computer which I would assume same IP) I can get on. But it is slower probably because it's going to my remote location then back to here. Sigh! I don't know why I would be blocked since i always leave it logged in. Thank you!!!!

This is weird..... Alison is going through Google Chrome, which I switched over to, and this evening I am having trouble with Google Chrome as well on my iPad.......I am temporarily back on the Safari browser and it is much better...... Google Chrome is extremely slow, and everything I type is seriously delayed, or doesn't show up. I gave up and went back into Safari.

I'm sorry Bonnie, it was worth a shot. Chrome can be slow if you have multiple things open at one time especially on an iPad. Safari was made to work with tons of things open. Other than the one time the site was down, I have never had any issues getting on here...though I have a static IP. Your IP is assigned by your Internet Service Provider, and depending on the provider it can change very often or you can have the same IP for a day or two.

Alison, did you clear your browser cache and did that help?

Jim, I hope you don't mind me trying to help.

Thank you Elizabeth we really appreciate it and I am happy to hear you've never had any issues.

Jim wasnt able to get online yesterday because a drive that was supposed yo take 1.5 hrs took 6 due to a bad traffic accident! Got to his brothers house, had to visit, etc. We are at a wedding this weekend so a little slow to respond but he will be on later (CA time here).

Alison let us know if that helped.

Sadly no.. I can only get on when I am on my network (remote access) which makes NO sense since it's the same laptop and therefore the same wifi connection! But no worries. .. I am off on vacation tomorrow and will hopefully find a new IP address so maybe then! Ironically, I can't get on via my ipad either. (probably an IP address issue) but it doesn't do anything. I even tried going through Internet Explorer and that didn't work.

I am a PC girl if that helps at all.

Thanks all! Have fun at the wedding ... no worries on this end! XO

Ha! So the network DOES have a different IP address.... mysterious. I consider myself fairly tech savvy but this one has me confused for sure ... hopefully you can unblock my IP address ... I know the tripawds misses my witty comments! LOL (kidding).

Def sounds like it could be an IP address issue b/c all of your devices should be on the same outgoing IP. When you remotely access your work network though that's an entirely different IP requesting access to Tripawds. Try resetting your modem by turning it off for awhile. Once you turn it back on, it "should" reset your IP. Let us know if that works, or doesn't 🙂

Sorry you guys are having so many issues, computers are a pain in the ass!

You didn't tell me you were tech savvy!!! If you don't want to shut off your router, you can change your IP like this also:

Open the command prompt (if you are on a windows based machine go to the start menu and type in "cmd", if you are on a mac go to the magnifying glass icon in the upper right and type in "cmd"). A window will pop up that looks like the old DOS command prompt line, type in "ipconfig/release" and hit enter. Then type in "ipconfig/renew" and you should see a new IP pop up.

There are some other ways too, but unplugging the modem is the easiest.

LOL Elizabeth ... you have a lot more confidence in me than I do! I have a new tiled version of Windows and ironically can't find the flipping start menu!!!! I just turned the modem off for about  min and it's the same IP. I am tempted to drive 2 blocks to a coffee shop to get a new IP address! 🙂 It just goes slower on the remote and I 'technically' should be working.

But at least my IP didn't block me on FB! Heaven forbid I not be able to post photos of little JL! Our vacation cannot come soon enough!

Cheers ... thank you for trying to help!

FYI: This IP is not blocked. At least not anymore, our server does have security measures in place that will cause temporary blocks.

So the network DOES have a different IP address....

Yes. Please ensure that the IP address you provide is from the computer/device and local wifi network on which you have access trouble. Changing the network by accessing the site via remote access will change your IP address identified by the server. So, make sure you do not visit whatismyip.com via remote access—visit the site directly via the wifi network from which you cannot connect.

NOTE: To confirm an IP address block is the issue, visit Tripawds via a proxy server to see if the page loads.

I "should" be working too Alison, but this is an emergency situation. Nobody, and I mean nobody, should be without access to Tripawds.

You must have windows 8 🙂 On your keyboard there is a "windows" icon key. If you press that it should switch to the view you are more familiar with. Or if you hit the "windows" icon key and "C" you should see a menu pop up with the "start" button.

Just for fun, make sure you haven't somehow inadvertently blocked the site. Go to Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Sites and scroll down through and make sure Tripawds isn't on there.

If you go to the coffee shop (a MUCH better place to work anyway), let us know if it works there. I was hoping your IP would reset...blech!

Sorry, there are like a hundred things that could be screwy. Did you have any issues before you logged in remotely to your work network or only after when you got back on yours?

It absolutely is a CRISIS (lol) for me .... Alas... no matter what I do, I cannot get on via my normal connection (yet obviously I am on via my remote access). I am traveling today w/Jasper so perhaps when we get 8 hours north of LA... we can connect again! Thank you EVERYONE for your help ... I really just wanted to get on not only to support my fellow Tripawds peeps but because today is Shelby's angelvesary and I needed to update her blog before I hit the road. The delay on the typing on the remote access is making me have more typos than Sally (you know I love Sally ... lol).

Thank you everyone ... we'll chat from our road trip!!!
