Tripawds is your home to learn how to care for a three legged dog or cat, with answers about dog leg amputation, and cat amputation recovery from many years of member experiences.
We referred to the last major theme overhaul for the Tripawds News blog
, as Tripawds 3.0. Many minor changes have been implemented since then but three is a magic number, and the first version way back in 2006 didn't really count...so:
Tripawds 3.3 Site Overhaul In Progress
This theme overhaul has taken much longer than expected, but it is almost done! In fact all Tripawds Featured Blogs and the Tripawds Foundation
have already been modified using our new theme.
Overhaul of this site is scheduled to take place this week, some time between Thursday, June 20 and Sunday, June 23. Don't panic. The actual transition time should be very short, with minimal and hopefully no down time. We have put weeks into preparing all the sites for the makeover, and so far the actual transitions have gone very smoothly. Endless hours have gone into testing themes, checking compatibility, testing new themes, customizing options, and optimizing performance.
We have also done our best to ensure users experience no major visual differences. Of course, cookies, cached content and gremlins can always cause unexpected anomalies. Before reporting any display or functionality issue, as always, please: log out, clear your browser cache, remove all cookies from any "tripawds" domains, restart your browser, and log back in.
For a sneak peek of things to come, check out the new and improved Tripawds Featured Blogs:
We have many hours of clean-up remaining once the theme activation is complete, so please visit as many pages as possible and feel free to report any issues whatsoever.
Please stand by...
PS: We wanted to surprise y'all, to see if anypawdy actually notices the coming changes, but Jerry insisted we provide warning. So there you have it.
Looks good other than the glitch Karen mentioned. Does this mean no banners on pages anymore? I kind of noticed that too.

What looks good? No changes have been made to this site yet.
Does this mean no banners on pages anymore?
There have never been any random Tripawd Heroes headers on any of the other Tripawds Blogs
, if that is what you mean by "banners". In fact, they only appear on the Forums and Chat pages of this site. If by banner, you mean the red stripe behind page titles, then yes that style is changing.
And yes, those banners will still appear on those two pages, of this site.
Over the next few days we will continue to optimize performance. This entails tweaking numerous settings and flipping all sorts of switches off and on. During this time assets will be cached, deleted, combined, deferred, and cached again...so there may periodically be an impact on performance while these caches are rebuilt.
The Tripawds cats links in the gallery are messed up at page 5 or 6. Was lookin' for Huck photos, couldn't find any but the next to or last page went to the dawgs

It may have appeared that way, nothing messed up there...thought you were on to something then experienced a similar issue and noticed what was happening
When advancing the page, a gallery will momentarily disappear before the new thumbnails are loaded. This causes the galleries below to slide up, which in this case includes thumbnails of dogs. Allow ample time for the gallery page to reload and the expected thumbnails will appear. The higher numbered pages og each gallery make take a bit longer to load as new images which have not yet been displayed need to be cached.
Thanks for checking things out! Please continue to report any unexpected behavior.
