Tripawds is moving... To a new server that is!
To better serve the growing needs on the Tripawds Blogs community and discussion forums, the Tripawds network will be migrating to a new and improved web hosting server this week (August 17-21, 2015).
Tripawds bloggers : Please pay attention to the notice in your dashboard. Any changes made to your site during the migration window may be lost!
NOTE: Tripawds is migrating to a new server this week!
DO NOT PUBLISH POSTS OR UPLOAD PHOTOS BETWEEN 2:00AM TUESDAY 08/18/15 & 10:00AM FRIDAY 08/21/15.
ANY CHANGES MADE TO YOUR BLOG DURING THIS TIME MAY BE LOST!
NOTE: Once we have a more specific time frame for the actual migration, these forums will be locked for read-only access. After we confirm the migration is complete, the forums will be unlocked. In the mean time, please refrain from uploading new photos to your blog or publishing any new posts and pages.
The migration process will take some time due to the amount of data involved. All Tripawds blogs may be inaccessible, or load slowly during this time.
This long anticipated move to the new server should improve overall performance of this website, will enhance security, and allow for continued growth.
The upgrade has only been made possible thanks to your Tripawds Foundation Support!
Any questions?

Sooo....basically....the site is shut down for the timeframe you mentioned, right?
If a new person comes to the site, I guess there will be a big notice explaining this. Can the Tripawds Helpline number be posted really BOLDLY too as a go to source while it's down?
Several members are going through a scary time right now with new amps, or just now going into surgery, etc. Plus, newbies might not even read this thread. Just want them to know the Helpline is still a source of support.
Can't wait to see the changes! I know you've been burning the midnight oil on this! Just know it's appreciated!
THANK YOU ADMIN GUY!!

No. We certainly hope not!
We just don't want any Tripawds bloggers to lose any posts or photos they upload to the old server during the migration window before we flip the switch to the new server. (That's why the notice above appears in their dashboard.) We'll prevent that here in the forums by locking them down for while.
Technically speaking, it's a DNS propogation thing...not to mention the time it takes to transfer gigabytes of looooong topic titles and smileys!!!!!!!!!!
If a new person comes to the site, I guess there will be a big notice explaining this.
We considered doing this, but that would prevent people from accessing the resources that will be available. We certainly intend to keep any downtime to an absolute minimum!

Great idea! But IF the domain is inaccessible during the brief propagation delay, then no message can be displayed other than default Apache stuff.
To clarify, the three day time-frame in the notice above is a warning. we've already moved a couple of our other sites and each one has taken only a couple hours. Tripawds is just much bigger and will take a bit longer...
The site should remain visible for the vast majority of the migration time, it's just a matter of from where it's being served up.
Can't wait to see the changes!
Hopefully, you won't notice anything different.

Geez...I really hate that you have to spend time clarifying my moments of DUH....my many moments of DUH! I really do! But I'm glad to know it didn't mean the site was inaccessible for two days!
And yes...whatever you do...we have ro make sure our smileys get transferred! And "those" people who do long titles and use lots of smileys just don't understand the intricacies of the trouble they cause on our computers like WE do, huh Admin Guy?!
Mucho thanko!

Phew... thanks for the heads up!!!! I was going to update little Jasper's blog on our trip but we can wait! 🙂

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Well, that didn't quite go as planned!
It's been quite a day.

Could you be more specific? "Not well" how? The more detail you can provide, the better we can troubleshoot any issues. Screenshots always help too!
First, we suggest quitting Safari, clearing the cache from your Settings, and then relaunching the browser and trying again.
Thanks!
