The Barnster is visiting Adelaide and Aissa (and Mathilde, Morrigan, and Bagheera), after an amazing adventure with Happy Hannah and a trip to Honduras. We are so glad the Happy Hannah got to meet and play with Barney when she did.
First thing here, after the girls opened up their package and found our new visitor, Adelaide showed the Barnster her favorite escape route. (You can see more about past escapes in the blog post On A Short Leash). This is when he showed his butt, literally.
Leave it to the trouble maker (Barney this time, not Adelaide) to test his boundaries. Therefore, we had no choice, but to put Barney on his own short leash...
And wait! What is THAT on Barney's neck? Do you remember the last post from Jerry about Barney coming to see us? And before that about his getting a little singed post scuba diving in Honduras? Well, he needed a little surgery and skin grafts. Especially if Adelaide was going to play with him without taking the stuffing out of him (really, she would). The surgery went well, and he has recovered nicely.
First the graft
Adelaide and Aissa were very interested in his progress...
Then we had to do a few stitches...
Now he is in tip top shape and ready to return to his adventures. Which as you can see below, may be stressful for him.
Stay tuned, you never know what he will do or where he will end up.
Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury. Her amp was on 10/1/12. She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera. We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

Yay Addy & crew. Hope you show that Barney a great time. Looks like he tried to escape don't let that little bugger do that.

Wow Barney, you're looking GREAT! Even after all those crazy adventures you look good as new. We have some amazing plastic surgeons in the Tripawds nation don't we?!
Now, don't you escape ya year? Or else you WILL suffer the wrath of Addy, who will tear you to pieces and even the best plastic surgeon in the world can't help you recover from her attacks!
I can't wait to see what kinda trouble you get into with that craaaaaaazy pack. Have fun!

oh DARN! I thought I was going to read this and see he had an amputation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Barney would look GREAT as a tripawd!!!!!
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Tripawd Barney!!! hahahahahha
Now.. not that he would need an amputation un-necessarily.. but if that did happen.. well then.. he is in the right place!!
Christine... with Franklin in her heart♥
Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
Looks like Addy would be willing to assist in the surgery! Watch out, Barney!
Kathi and Murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
Well Barney, you are certainly being well cared for by Nurse Karma and Nurse Aissa.......althoug Nurse Karma got that needle moghty close to your little dinosaur eye!......
Let's see, you've been taken 100' under the sea, faced sharks, jelly fish and Moray Eels.....jumped out of a "perfectly good airplane" thoisands and thousands of feet up in the sky, you've "caight crabs".......and you never even so much as batted an eye!
And yet, having only spent a few hours with Addy you are already trying to escape under a fence?? Trust your instincts Barney and RUN!!!
This is gonna be soooooo good.........
Enjoy the Barnster! We sure did!
