Lymph nodes show no cancer after amputation

Our Rottweiler had rear amputation three weeks ago. After surgery vet said they found no cancer in lymph nodes for which we are most grateful. However I'm not sure what that means as far as chemo consideration.

Chemotherapy is always optional, and many things factor into that decision. Most importantly, would be the type of cancer, and whether chest/body scans indicate if it has visibly spread to the lungs or other organs. For instance, osteosarcoma is much more aggressive and tends to metastasize to the lungs first. Other "bulky" type tumors like chondrosarcoma do not tend to respond to chemo.
