Tripod Trouble Takes a Hike

On Saturday Trouble had her first official outing since surgery and chemo.  We loaded her into the car, complete with picnic fixings, and headed to the Big Thicket National Preserve about an hour north.  Our first stop was the Visitor Center where we met Jim & Rene.  Oh boy, new friends.  Trouble loves meeting new friends, just as we do.  We went from there to a small park where there was a small trail, nice picnic area, and pitcher plants in bloom.

Trouble had so many new and exciting things to investigate and smell. Oh, what a wonderful day it was. New friends, new smells, new places to explore, what more could a tripawd want?  We had a nice leisurely picnic then headed down the short trail, Trouble leading the way.  It was a little longer than Trouble could comfortably hop, and being the independent tripawd she is, she didn't want to lay down and rest, she just kept trudging on. When she looked really wiped out, I asked Jim if he would carry for for a while.  She wasn't too sure at first, but decided that was a pretty good way to travel.  Thanks so much, Jim, we all need a lifesaver every now and then!

Back at the picnic area we rested for a bit more and chatted.  Then it was time to go.  We wished our new friends a fond goodbye and headed on to our second stop.  We went by to see the friends who gave us Trouble 9 years ago.  They were happy to see she was doing so well and couldn't get over how great she looks.

Our journey complete, we headed for home.  Trouble slept well last night and has napped most of the day.  A tired pittie is a happy pittie!

If I can find the camera, I'll upload a photo or two later.

Tripod Trouble Takes a Hike

What a great time we had! Thanks for spending the afternoon with us and allowing us to get to know your wonderful family. Trouble is one incredible girl. If you didn't tell us that was her first excursion after surgery, we never would have guessed. The girl doesn't stop!

Here's another pic that we took. Stay tuned for Trouble's movie debut, coming soon!

Hi Shanna and Trouble,

So glad to hear that Trouble's first outing went so well. It's so amazing how well these Tripawds adapt. She looks so happy!
