We stayed with the Tramadol Monday night and Tuesday morning.  She did not get up until I got home from work Tuesday afternoon.  She did get up then without coaxing and went out for her potty break, ate dinner and then went back to sleep.  Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning she got Tramadol, but I went by the vet on my way home yesterday and got some Rimadyl.  Bob spent a good deal of time yesterday massaging her hips and legs.  When I got home yesterday she had improved a little more, she got up and went out, did the potty thing, ate her diner and then would follow me about the house a bit.  I gave her Rimadyl before we went to bed.  This morning was the first morning since Monday she has gotten up with me.  Went out and came back in for her breakfast. This is a definite improvement.  I gave her another Rimadyl before I left for work.  I think she is on the mend.  Thank you all for your suggestions and encouragement.  It really does help!

Mini update -

Had a fall in the kitchen  - moving so fast she didn't negotiate a corner, got her front paw under a rug and went sprawling.  She continued on out the door, rested a bit and made a 1/2 parameter check.  BIG Improvement!

Laying in the hallway enjoying the sun coming through a bedroom window.  Duke just got up to check on her.  He's been a really good boy while she's been out of it. He's very concerned about her - gets up and checks her periodically.

Did she have a nice trip? laugh

That is so sweet of Duke!  He's a loving boy!

Shanna - I don't want to sound like I'm harping but can you get her into water therapy?  Comet has improved her mobility incredibly with the swims in the evening.  Also, what about a muscle relaxer from the vet?  I've started her on 1/2 tablet before bed and she seems so much more rested.  When she is lying under the desk, I can tell when her back aches because she seems to try to stretch it by laying upside down and moving a lot.  I think the muscle relaxer at night seems to be really helping her loosen up, too.   As a matter of fact, she just moments ago jumped on the couch which is a younger Comet thing!

Us Granny dogs have to stick together!!!
