While Trouble is out cold recouperating from her ear surgery, it occurred to me today is the 26th - her 26th ampuversary.  With the loss of a couple very special tripawd friends, Fortis and Comet, this is one of the hardest posts I've had to make.  Right behind the ones I made as Max, Cherry, and Tika left the November Five.

Today, it is for the ones we have lost that we celebrate, for even though they are gone, they watch over us and give us strength.  We celebrate knowing them, sharing our journey with them.  We celebrate the wonderful cyber friendships we've made along the way.  Twenty six months is a long time - longer than we ever expected to be given. A goal for all who come behind us. I only wish 26 months was the norm.  Make no mistake, just because you make it this long doesn't mean there is never cause for concern. They will scare the pejabbers out of you more times than you want to count.

We celebrate for all who are on this journey.  We wish you long, healthy, happy lives on three legs.  Thank you all for being a part of our journey.

Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul.  Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

Trouble's birthday buddy, Comet (and of course her mommy) wishes Trouble a speedy ear surgery recovery and a HAPPY 26th Ampuversary!

(and to those new members who might be a little lost, Trouble let Comet celebrate her birthday on the same day since they seemed to be exactly within the same month and same year of each other and Comet's birthday was uncertain.  We were thrilled that Trouble let us do that! So, we had a double birthday party in honor of our 12 year old "little girls"!)

And for an encore...(since we are celebrating Cooper's ampurversary today, too)

LET'S HAVE A PARTY!

Take it away ELVIS!

Her Retired AvatarComet - 1999 to 2011

She departed us unexpectedly  January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.

She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.

Beautiful post Shanna.  Tell Trouble happy ampuversary when she wakes up.

As I just posted on Cooper's thread- we are family here.  We go through the good and the bad together.

So celebrate 26 months Trouble, 2 years Cemil, 3 months Cooper.

After all- one of the important lessons we learn from our pups is to treasure each day we have together!

Trouble, you give such much hope to everyone!  I'm very happy your surgery and hospital stay are over too. I thought about you all day yesterday & was relieved to hear you were home.  I didn't like Isabelle spending the night in the hospital last week...even though I know they take good care of her, it's still very unsettling.

When you wake up tomorrow, I hope you have a wonderful celebration. In the meantime, Isabelle will honor you with another tasty treatsmile Happy Ampuversary!

Congratulations Miss Trouble superstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstar! That's one for each month (I think, there were a lot of them and I had to count twice!)

Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end.  On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Wow, so many special events on the 26th! Trouble, you are just so pawsome, we just love being in the beat-the-odds club with you! Nova will have more treats in your honor today (she says no green beans, please!) on top of all of her birthday treats that had to wait a day since I had school all day on the 26th.

Trouble, keep on kickin' butt! But PLEASE give your Mom a break on the worrying for awhile, okay?
