The power of Team Tripawds Pawsitive Thinking has done it again - we just got home from the onc (and from a little walk!) and he says it looks like an overuse injury. We didn't do an x-ray, but he said the signs point to just an injury. He pushed on the bones around her wrist and she was fine - he said if it was the OSA spreading, even just doing that would be painful for her. She only protested when he manipulated her wrist - so it looks like she tweaked it Friday night.

We are supposed to keep an eye on her for a few more days and keep her a bit quiet and if she continues to improve, than it is definitely just an injury. He said she can go for little 10 min walks in the neighborhood, but no beach and no vigorous play. We celebrated by meeting up with her daddy at the park across the street from his work and went for a little hop. She did great and seemed quite happy to be up and about again!!

We are also starting up the masitinib again, so we'll see how that goes. I'm gave her a 1/2 dose just now and will continue that until Thur. Then Friday we'll go to the full dose and see how she does on it.

Thanks so much everyone for your thoughts, juju, prayers and Samson - thank you SO much for that stinky sock offering!!

Seriously - how many times do I get to cry "wolf" and come here freaking out and have you guys talk me off the ledge??? Cuz this is at least time number two, if not #3.

You guys are the best!!

Jackie, Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Jackie-

You are welcome to come here and freak out any time- the only condition is that it is always an overuse injury and not something more serious laughing.

Off to a really boring meeting right now- but I go off smiling!!

Way to go Abby! Scare the begeezus outta your mom! Geesh! Glad the monkeybutt mojo worked!

Spirit Samson was Spirit Tripawd Daisys four legged "brother" and ruled as the self proclaimed head of the Monkeybutt Federations East Coast Division. Lady Chunky Monkey stayed from Oct 2011 and left for the bridge in Apr 2012. Miss Perdy is left and has some big pawprints to fill.

I KNEW it!! I just KNEW it!! Really, I knew it all along big-grin Mom still won't let me near her coffee cup though ( I don't get it....) Anyways, I hope you have a great Thanksgiving (I bet you get turkey!)

Love,

Ranger

Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end.  On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.
