We are very worried for Snoop. As I posted last he seemed to have strained his left rear leg. We went to the vet last week fri and were examined. They felt this could be deterioration coupled with arthritis in back or a disc problem. We went home with more tramadol and to give daily dosage of piroxicam. Rest and quiet to see if he would improve. He seems to be getting worse. Minimal bearing of weight on the leg. We are scheduled to go back tomorrow am, to reevaluate. I'm sure ex rays and well talk about what options we may have.
Snoop does not appear to be in any terrible pain, just not able to be comfortable.

I can't even begin to tell you how frightened I am. I never thought this would happen because he seemed so strong and doing so well. This happened so fast.
I hope someone here can give some advice and insight. I'm overwhelmed emotionally right now.

OH MY DEAR ESTHER AND DON!!

Okay.....you know the first step in Snoop's RECOVERY from this hurdle..-.-.B R E A T H....deep breaths in....B R E A T H E......exhale slowly........ B R E A T H E.....B R E A T H E!!!

Until...and IF...you know anuthing differenty....this is still most likel related to some type of strain, crampng, disc, etc. as was originally speculated about!

And...the ole' disclaimer...I'm no vet......but I believe Predisone is a stronger anti-inflammatory than the Piroicam. I know there is a wash-out period before switching the two. It maube that he needs bigger hits of steroids and some acupu ture and massage. Mention cold laser therapy ( I think that's right) to the vet as an arthritis treatment. As we all know here, tree legs can cause all sortsof seco daryissues with miscles, artnritis, back issues, etc. And the good news is they can all be treated with some good results!!

Dante was just discovered to have muscle cramping in the neck area causing almost paralyzing symptons.

I KOW ot's jard ot to thik the worse case scenario n this crazy journey. Were it ot for the cnallenges of this piece of crap disease yo wold not be nearly as worried!

IThis is where the "living like a dog" is absolutely necessary!! It's a touch easier when we don't jave any health scares tnough, that's for sure!!

We can all live like a Budda Zen Master at the top of the mountain...it's when we're down in the valley ot gets a little bit tougjer!!

But we're all here infusig you with strength, courage, the power of the NOW.....and a whole bunch of chocolate!
Snoops is blissfuly unaware of a thing and certainly is NOT worrying!! Sit next to him and soak up that contentment he has in his soul.....feel it.......now KNOW ALL IS WELL in the Land of Snoop!!!

Sending you all the love in the world You still have my number? Use it!!

And for goodness sakes! Not only is this Snoop Dog we're talking about...Mr. Epitome of Fitness".....but we've got 'El Chunko Happy Hannah as his GuardiaN ''And THAT carries a lot of weight...in every semse of the word!!

Sally and Happy Hannah

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

All you can do right now is breathe until you get the x-ray results. I know all you can think about are mets- but you need to confirm.

If it is arthritis there are several meds you can try as well as physical things like acupuncture, chiropractic and therapy.

I am sending all the positive thoughts I can and will be waiting for an update tomorrow.

Joan and Lily

Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.

I know how scared you are... When Shelby wouldn't use her remaining rear leg, I freaked out. There were a lot of other issues with Shelby but one that might be similar to Shelby is that perhaps Snoops has super tight muscles. Maybe try some gentle massage? They told me Shelby had the tightest quads and that was causing it to be lame... I am sure it's just a strain or over-use or tight muscles. Sending you lots of positive energy and looking for the update tomorrow!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Whether sharing good news or difficult news it is so comforting to come back and read any info, cheering on or paws crossed. It helps having others understand what this journey brings to us and our fur babies.

Esther, I just saw this and want you to know that we are sending lot of love & pawsitive thoughts to all of you, especially Snoop. I hope he's feeling better with the pain meds.

It's hard not to think the worst, I know it. All you can do is your best, keeping in mind that we can't worry about things we have no control over (the future) so stay calm as best you can. And no matter what kind of news comes back, remember that there will be options, there always is.

Lotsa love to your pack. Keep us posted OK?

Esther and Snoop and family, we're thinking about you.

Deb and Angel Lexie* Diagnosed at age 13. Tried radiation first; wish we had amputated upon diagnosis (even with lung mets). Joined Club Tripawd April 2014 & Lexie loved life on 3 legs! Advice: Start physical therapy as soon as your vet clears it, especially hydrotherapy if available :-) See Lexie pics here.
