Dr. Macy gave Rusty the okay to start swimming and

we are back in the pool!  Rusty was very nervous the first few days so

we just let him take it easy and get comfortable.  Yesterday he jumped on

the float and never looked back!  He jumps on the float from the sides

of the pool, the spa wall and from in the water!  Really remarkable that

he can do everything with three legs that he did last year on four legs.  I plan on

making another video of him surfing on three legs.

Three legged dogs can jump!

Exiting the pool correctly

Rusty uses a pool float as his "surf board".  He runs and jumps on the float and sails across the pool.  He scared us to death jumping from the spa wall into the pool.  The shot of him on the spa wall is in the evening, no sun; this is why we call him our "Cabana Boy" as he walks out on the ledge and cleans out leaves, etc. from the pool.  He continues to amaze us with his return to a normal life.

Rusty is a Labradoodle who was diagnosed with level 3 Fibrosarcoma on January 16th, 2010 and had his left hind leg amputated on January 25th, 2010 five days before his 18 month birthday. Please see Rusty's blog @rusty.tripawds.com.  He is putting up one heck of a fight against this terrible disease.

What a great looking surfer dude - those are just the cutest pictures! Can't wait for the video release! Way to go Rusty!

Kami , tripawd swimmer Mackenzie  & complete scaredy cat of the water Kobe (altho he's a golden!)

My sweet golden Mackenzie.  She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2  although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home.  She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009.  She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes.  I love you Mackenzie!

Those surfer pics are the greatest!smile Seeing a tripawd doing "normal" things always brings a big smile to my face.

Daisy, 12 years young, had left forelimb amp on 5/19/2010 due to osteosarcoma. She left her body behind and joined the other spirit tripawds on 7/16/2010.
So grateful for each day with her!
