The Queen just posted an update and some pictures on her blog, so check it out if you are curious about the latest. It's not the greatest news, but I am thankful she is still here with me.
Dane Mom Sue at nova.tripawds.com and Mom to Beautiful Great Dane Queen Nova, a Blind Tripawd, who kicked cancer's butt from 11/08-03/13. The Queen is Spirit Nova now, but her legacy lives on here at Tripawds!
Im sorry she has had some rough days but so happy you have some precious time with her. I'm glad to read your post, because my sweetpea has had the same symptoms off and on - with waking confused and unable to walk. It has happened twice and now I'm thinking the same has happened to sweetpea. Thank you so much for sharing a part of your life, because now I dont feel as quite alone.
Ohh, Nova. Way to hang in there, girl. You know, Sue, Gerry has had some similar weird symptoms going on since May too. Did you see our post? http://tripawds.....rst-thing/ I haven't had a chance to update yet, though I plan too, but since I last posted, he's been tested for more stuff, and nothing has come back positive. He's been on a home cooked diet (recommended by a vet who does acupuncture and chinese herbs too) and that keeps him from getting diarrhea, but it has come back twice while trying to transition him back to his old food. Though, one time it happened he kept finding dead birds, which also could have been diarrhea culprits. Anyway, I'll try to update soon, but maybe we should chat or PM. Could be totally different problems our pups are having, but maybe we should compare notes to be sure!
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.
Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com
Sue, I'm so sorry, I had no idea this happened recently. It's so scary when humans can't speak enough doglish to know what's going on. I'm just so glad to hear you found another option to help her feel better, and enjoy more good times on your heroic journey.
I just want to add...you are an awesome pawrent, never doubt that for a minute ya hear? Whatever happens next, Nova knows that you love her more than anything and only want what is fitting and appropriate for the Queen. Dog knows, she deserves the best.
Many hugs coming your way. We send all our best wishes for many more good days ahead.
