Hi everyone - There has been a lot of loss lately here at tripawds and my mommy feels it all. Every time one of our beloved tri-pals crosses the bridge she sheds those tears that humans have and we stop what we're doing and say a "puppy prayer" that the cross over the bridge was painless and freeing and that the pawrents left behind will find peace and comfort throughout the grieving process knowing how wonderful and loving they were to their fur kid. We wouldn't be able to go through this journey without our pawrents walking it with us every paw print of the way. Mommy was hoping that my bit of good news could help put a little smile on everyones faces and remind some of the newbies that though the journey does come to an end at some point in time...for all of us, we never know exactly how the journey is going to hop along...

We went in for xrays yesterday - our typical 3 month lung check up and mommy had doctor Kecia do xrays of EVERYTHING. We took something like 8 xrays. I didn't have to go under or anything - I sit pretty still during my xrays because I know how important they are to my mommy. So...I got all my legs xrayed and my spine and all I have going on in there is a little bit of arthritis!! I am 11 years old you know...so I guess that's pretty normal. No lungs mets to boot either! Mommy wants to thank everyone who has shared their difficult stories of the spreading "C -----" (we're not allowed to say that word in our house!) because it made mom be proactive in making sure that I didn't have anything going on...she knows I'm pretty stoic and carry my pain without even the hint of a wimper and I remember her promising me when we started this journey together that my best interest would always be first and foremost in her mind. So, a little over 14 months later (we thought it was fifiteen and then mommy used her fingers to count and realized it was 14 ), I am C----- free and happy as a pup rolling in the grass and chewing sticks!

We send lots of love to all...prayers for all those in recovery - these two weeks are difficult, but well worth the wonderful days ahead - no matter how many or how few. We send heaing energy to all pawrents who have lost their fur babies - mommy always says she cannot imagine the pain and then she looks at me with this look that tells me I better not leave her! And finally, we raise our paws to Jerry and crew above watching over all of us knowing that one day we will all be together.

Peace and love,

Zeus (and mommy too...she helped me write this!)

Beautifully written, Heather, and awesome news.  I, like you, mourn each loss, but I also celebrate each victory.  When you've been here a while you realize a victory for one is a victory for all.  The great tails of victory keep me focused on each new day for Trouble.

Thank you for sharing, it means so much.
