Oh gosh! Her sleeping position IS craaaazy in the second picture! Obviously though, as weird as it looks to us, Izzy fi ds it perfectly comfortable! Nkw that first picture (which is so adorable) looks far more comfy! Both photos really are sweet.
Glad the vet had no concerns about the "throat clearing". That's reassuring!
Is she really adapting as well as it appears? How you are coping with basically a two legged dog on your own boogles my mind! Is sheable to weight bear at all, and is that oky for her to do?
You're an amazing mom and Izzy is an amazing pul! That equals an AMAZING TEAM!!
Love!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
How's she doing? You must be getting close to the one month mark, which is when we were allowed to start short rehabilitative walks.
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.
Sorry, I've been posting here and there but am just now seeing this. Izzy is doing great! She had a little setback just after the 4 week mark ... she did too much for feeling so good and started limping again. A little Gabapentin and a few days' rest and she was good as new!
She's up to old tricks again - like visiting the neighbor behind us - but I'm keeping her from going too nutty. I did forget to block the stairs when I went out for a short while yesterday and found her up in my room when I got home. Scariest part was that she tried to come down alone - noooooooooooo! She used to go too fast when all three legs were solid so I'm not ready for her to tackle that yet!
Here she is just a few minutes ago, happy as a clam on her bed.
She goes for her 8 week follow up for the knee and an oncology check up on the 17th, so I'll be sure to make a post after that appointment. MCT seems well controlled but I'll wait for the official verdict 😉
Not sure this will work, but here she is begging for more dinner, right after finishing her meal. The day this dog doesn't eat is the moment I'll know it's time lol
Momma to the world's most beautiful American Bulldog, Izzy!! Lost her front leg to OSA 9/18/15. Diagnosed w MCT in June 2016. Celebrated her 1 year ampuversary with knee surgery on 9/18/16! MCT recurrence in Dec 2016. Happy & hungry til nearly 14, earning her wings on 7/31/17.
Yeah Izzy!!!!

What great news! This really says a lot about the resiliency of our Tripawds!

Look at her! I just love this dog. And what a fantastic team you are! Happy as a clam says it all.
Ruby, Staffy, born June 2022, became a Tripawd, November 2023, adopted January 2024.
Also Angel Tripawd Meg (aka The Megastar), who died in April 2023, aged 14, after seven glorious years on three, and Angel Staffies Elsie Pie and Bille. In the pawprints of giants...
Thanks, everyone! I took a photo of Izzy by the fire (it's cold here in NC the past week or so) but Photobucket is letting me down. 🙁 I'll be sure to sort it out before I come post the update after Izzy's 8 week post op check up this Thursday.
Izzy is snoring at the moment, all swaddled up in her Christmas Pug blankie. Can't wait to get a shot of her in her red thermal jammies for Christmas. Methinks a Santa hat is in order! Because I'm a bad dog mom, we haven't had a birthday party for her yet ... I'm pretty sure she will forgive me for an extra pupcake! Thank goodness she is easy
Will update everyone soon!
