Here is one that is under consideration for Ollie's card. We call it Waiting for Santa. He was waiting in line to get his picture taken.

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Oh Ollie, you're so gorgeous! What an expression! Such a patient boy to wait your turn. I have a feeling Santa is going to reward you with a very special Christmas present because you are such a good boy.

Big hug,

Alison, when you have a mantel decorated with so much love, you don't need any other "decorations"!

I tapped my tavlet so I could enlarge the picture and see the Shelby pictures better. Sooooo sweet! And I love Lil' Jaspers stocking too! She sure hit the puppy lottery when Shelby sent her to you!heart

Love this topic.  We aren't doing cards this year, it just hurts too much, but I love seeing all of this.  And this is a good prompt for me to scan and preserve the ones from years past, so thanks for the inspiration. Here is 2013...

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly.  His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.

Adding our Merry Christmas wishes to everyone! The rescue where I adopted Fionn has pictures with Santa every year as a fundraiser. I have never done it despite Fionn being my 3rd rescue from there, but this year I felt we needed to do it. Who knows if Fionn will see another Christmas (he better!)?

He had a great time sniffing the butts of his "people" (it's a golden retriever rescue) and jumped up on the bench with Santa for his picture. He saw me move behind the photographer and got worried I was leaving I guess, tried to get down, slipped on the decorative blanket and fell off the bench! He got right up and was fine, but everyone was so upset he got lots of extra cookies. The next dog to get up there was young and hyper and he fell off too, flat onto his back! His pawrents looked at him and said "you have ALL FOUR legs what was your excuse?!". Poor Santa had his hands full!
