Hello!

I have not been on this Forum for awhile because I have been dealing with a health issue, and I am having brain surgery for it soon-(a brain aneurysn that I was lucky enough to find before it ruptured). I did want to post how Lily is doing. We celebrated her 41 month ampuversary yesterday!!! She visited the vet last week and received a totally clean bill of health and xraysclapclap The only issue she still has that has been ongoing is her panting. We've gone all over, and noone can tell us what's going on. She is 12!!!Cancer-free!!! We are so very fortunate!!! Thank you all for being here for us over the years-for those of you who are starting this journey-you couldn't have found a better group of people to guide you through everything.

Thank you all for everything!! Our 12 year old greyhound, Lily, is kicking cancer's butt!!!!

Hugs to all,

Joan and Lily

Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.

Yay for Lily.  Joan,  I am so sorry to hear that you have to have surgery, but I am glad they found it before anything could happen to you.  Lily needs her mom.

Hoppy Happy 41 months Lily.  Keep on kicking butt

Hugs

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Wow Joan, we are so glad you caught that nasty ol' aneurism (OK I'd be like FREAKING OUT about now but you are so zen..awesome!), and a BIG congrats to Lily too! I think that her coping strategies will help you in a million different ways as you recover from surgery, our animals are such great role models for that kind of inspawration.

Lily is just truly amazing. When I turn 84 years old like her (well, as she is in human years) I'll probably be doing the equivalent of panting a lot too, so ROCK ON LILY!

And you too Joan, please check in and let us know how you're doing OK? Sending lots of love and healing wishes your way. We'll wait for an update when you are feeling OK to post.

Ya' know, to the rest of the world we must seem just a bit off our rocker! I mean, here's Joan ppsting ONE sentence casually mentioning she is having a health challenge that rewuires BRAIN SURGERY!! And then she devotes TWELVE SENTENCES celebrating a magnificent 41 month ampuversary AND being 12 yrs. old at the same time!!!way-cool

Okay now, let us know when you go in and then update us asap while you recover.....even if it means losting while you are drugged! Don't worry about typos. The tripawd members are used to deciphering mine!

YAAAAAAAAAY FOR LILY!!! She really is a legend...a true inspiration...a beacon of hope!!! And she's not done yet! Such an amazing team!!! We are soooooo honored to be on this nourney with both of you!!!

You are all so wonderful!!! Rene, I may sound Zen, but believe me I am FREAKING OUT!! I do plan to use Lily's coping strategies-moving her bed right next to me in the living room, so I can soak in her strengthsmileysmileyThanks so much for all the healing wishes.

Sally, you always make me grinlaughinglaughing I will post-typos and all- when I'm able-probably not for a couple weeks-unless I can sneak my phone in ICU. Lily is my inspiration-so fortunate to have her. It'd be great if she could be right next to me in the hospital-she would freak out-she's a shy greyhound!!

Thanks to all for your kind words. Sending hugssuperstar

Love,

Joan and Lily
