This must be the place to post this news, because I feel like shouting it out!!!
GERRY HAS HIS AMPUTATION DATE !
I've been so worried that it was going to fall through and the shelter was going to have to figure out funding or possibly make a difficult decision. But it has been scheduled for Dec. 16th! And there may even be time for me to schedule some half/full days off work for when he needs to get to and from the vet. (Otherwise I'd have to drop him off early and pick him up late from the shelter so they could transport him). I love working for the city – what other employer would have required me to use up vacation time in my first two months of employment? But with everyone using vacation time this month, I will need some luck to get approved for the right days off. Cross your paws for us!
I can finally breathe easily enough about this that I am ready to post his story. Gotta eat breakfast first, but I'll be back and you can expect to see a first installment later today

Eagerly awaiting Gerry's story. I'm glad to hear he got his amputation day set.

Yoda's Mom,
I'm so happy to hear that Gerry got his surgery date scheduled!!! I really hope that you'll get some time off to be there to help him during the first few days of his recovery... We all know how traumatic that can be! I can't wait to see photos and read all the updates about his recovery!!!
Angel Jake's Mom
Jake, 10yr old golden retriever (fractured his front right leg on 9/1, bone biopsy revealed osteosarcoma on 9/10, amputation on 9/17) and his family Marguerite, Jacques and Wolfie, 5yr old german shepherd and the newest addition to the family, Nala, a 7mth old Bengal mix kittie.
