Hi Guys, since my grandmothers passing, I have been praying for signs from God - to guide me and to give me hope when things are not going well, when I am stressed, sad, ... Just so that I know that she is still with me in spirit and keeping me positive, as she always used to.
Well, yesterday I was praying for another sign that Dee will be fine and that I am just over-sensitive about this whole cancer diagnosis - my mother also had cancer many years ago, but she has been clean for over 10 years! (I think that is why she also has a very special place in her heart for Dee and takes very very good care of him).
As you know, Dee stays with my parents and I only see him 2 x a week when I go and visit. Last night my sister sent me a short video of Dee - playing and hopping around in the back yard, playing tug of war, barking, wagging his tail... He looked so happy and healthy! This was the sign that I have been praying for! I believe that while he is still eating, playing and his poops is still ok, he is healthy and that the hot summer days are just taking its toll on him. How could I forget the strength, determination and courage that Dee has shown over the past 7 months?? He is a true fighter!! He still has the will to live life to the fullest and I must learn from him!!
I am going to stay pawsitive and stop focussing on the fact that Dee has cancer, it only makes things worse.
Thanks for your messages, you keep me going when things are tough and I appreciate your friendship and love.
(I am busy with my Post Graduate studies in Business Management & Administration - I will finish my studies in June 2009 - HOPEFULLY! 🙂 )
Lots of love, Ansunette & Dee xxx
Dearest Ansunette & Dee,
You bet we are here for you! It is good to hear that our messages help keep you going when you are stressed, or your spirits are low. That's exactly the reason I try to offer support to those who need it most.
It is easy to see why you may overreact when Dee's mannerisms change from the norm. I know that his cancer is always on your mind. I'm so happy to hear your sister sent you that short video showing Dee hopping around in the back yard, barking, playing tug of war and just having some good old fun. It does show the brave spirit that Dee has and like you say, we need to learn more from our dogs so we can stay in the moment and not fret over tomorrow, or even yesterday. Just live for today and we all will have learned a valuable lesson from our beloved dogs.
We do love you very much and, as always, are sending our pawsitive thoughts and prayers to you and Dee. If ever you want to write me directly, here is my email address: vriss@comcast.net

Dee,
You look good in your new harness. Tell your mom not to worry so much. Just seeing you happy at the beach is a great sign. I am sorry to hear of your loss of your grandmother. Life takes and gives which is the natural order of things, even though it hurts. I hope you don't mind me saying
Hakuna Matata...
& keep studying I'm sure you have an angel watching over you now!
ps More days at the beach !!!
your friends,
Kim&Buster xoxo
