Hi everyone, my 4 year old Golden Retriever had her surgery yesterday on what I later learned was Tripawd Awareness Day. Her left forelimb was removed due to a tumor, the leg was sent for further biopsy due to the initial biopsy being inconclusive on the exact type of cancer. Just happy the painful leg has been removed and she can now recover and ge t back to being more like herself. Glad to have found this forum and website.
Awwww welcome to you and Westleigh! We are sorry you needed to go through the amputation ordeal but I gotta say, to have it done on 3/3 was a pretty darn good sign that everything's gonna be OK!
Let us know how we can help you both with recovery. If you haven't already checked out Jerry's Required Reading List , the Tripawds e-books library, or our What to Expect articles , check 'em out 🙂
When does Westleigh get to come home?

Just wanted to share a 3 month update on Westleigh. She won the Kaiserin Pet Cancer care package in April. She’s completed 4 of her 5 chemo treatments for what was a confirmed soft tissue sarcoma. I had seen some posts on this forum about tripawds who compete in dock diving, which Westleigh has not done since becoming a tripawd until today. She’s been doing great as a tripawd and just wanted to say reading through this forum has been immensely helpful.
WHEEEEEEE! Oh thank you for letting us know how she is doing. I'm so happy that life is good. How was the dock diving day? Exciting stuff!
We are grateful you found us and are keeping us in the loop about your amazing girl. Everyone learns from other stories. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of worried pet parents.
And one more pupdate for everyone: Westleigh recently met Amy and Gracie, aka TEAM WAG! Total coincidence you guys collided at the baseball game! Amy sent us this adorable photo:
Grinning ear to ear to read how well Westleigh is doing!! Dock diving? YAY!! Nothing holds this girl back!
And wonderful that you and Amy met. Great picture of dogs and hoomans!!
