So happy your boy is doing well! Does he have staples or stiches? I have read from some members that their dog would wine when getting up, and they found out one of the staples was pinching them. just a thought.

Hope recovery continues to go well....

My Beautiful Beloved Brownie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on February 26, 2019.  With all odds against him he lived an additional one year and eight days with amputation, love, and prayer.  I was honored to be his mom, and I have never been so proud!  He will live forever in my Heart!

He has stitches but there are 4 staples to hold the fentanyl patch. We will have those removed Tuesday, and at the same time the vet can have a good look at him to see how his wound is. So far, everything looks nice. And he has impressed me everyday since the surgery. He seems very solid on his three legs. I am in Quebec and even if all snow was gone last week with nice weather we got a little late snow storm on Friday. He has just been so happy everytime we go outside with the snow (huskies 😉 ..he loves to put his snout under the snow (I have to restrain him to roll in it).

The only time he is actually complaining is when he is lying on his right side (side of the amputation) and wants to get up. I think probably more than the pain, I think he is whining because he can't get up as easily as he used to. I always try to help him on that side. However, I think he is finally learning that it's better to lie on his left side. He has always preferred to lie on his right side so when he is turning to lie down he always start on circling as if he would lie down on his right side then realize it would be better the other way and now he switches (which he was not the days before).

And he is tricking us to take him outside pretty often. He loves it, we are trying to contain his energy. Sometimes he just wants to go faster.

Question: I have been trying many different ways to upload a video...It does not seem to work. Either using a youtube link or I saw that we can upload directly via the media library. But it looks like I don't have access to a media library in my dashboard. If you have an idea how to do it?

So glad he is doing better.

To upload a video, go to You tube and eight click to copy link address. When you get to your forum look for the icon that kinda looks like a paper clip and click on it.  There you will copy the link address from you tube. Hope that make sense.

the easiest way to share videos here in the forums in to paste the movie's Share link for any public video into your forum post. Upload  the video to Youtube, copy the Share link, paste it in your post, and the video will automatically embed in your post.

You can start a free Tripawds blog any time to get your own free Media Library for uploading images. Uploading video files is a quick way to consume your free upload space quota, and others will have to download the files to watch your videos. But yes, you can certainly do that, and upgrade with a Tripawds Supporter blog subscription to gain additional upload space. Click the My Sites link at the top of any page or visit the Tripawds Blogs page to start your free Tripawds blog in minutes.

If you have a Youtube or Vimeo account, past a video link and we can help troubleshoot why you believe that method is not working. Post in the Tech Support forum for additional help.

Way to go, Arktik!  He looks amazing!  Patricia, you must be so relieved to see him doing so well and celebrating the first poop!  Griffin and I are sending lots of hugs from NYC!

Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com

Today we did a visit at the vet to remove the fentanyl patch (with the staples holding it). My vet and the technicians who were there the day of the surgery were really happy with Arktik's progress.

I was looking forward to see the vet because he has a bit of seroma and bruising. But in the end, everything is normal and healing well 🙂
