Hi Patricia! Arktik looks so happy in those videos! It makes my heart smile to see him doing so well, playing in the water and romping in the woods with his friends. Griffin is on an every 4 week schedule for chemo, so his 4th round will be on July 8th. I'll have chest x-rays done at that time, but then I've already decided that I'm not doing more after that for all of the reasons listed here. I hope things have slowed down for you and you are able to spend lazy summer days with Arktik! Stacy
Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com
I just finish some work yesterday! So I am sort of on vacation starting today! YAY but I will still hav not do some work, at least it will be much more relax than the past few weeks!
I will post information on Auranofin in the other post. Were you considering it? Or are you still doing the Yale vaccine ? Just curious. Please let me know how it goes with the lung x-ray. I'm sure everything will be good. Griffin definitely seems in a super shape!
Arktik is very well, always excited to go for our adventures! The other day, somebody thought he was 2-3 years old seeing how well and agile he was. I used this comment when he had four legs but to hear it now on three legs made me so happy 🙂
Hi Patricia! So glad you will have some vacation time with Arktik! Griffin is also regularly mistaken for a much younger dog, and people still feel the need to comment when they see him in the wagon ("What a life to be so young and have it so good!"). Thanks for the good wishes about the lung x-ray. I'm feeling a bit anxious about it which is why I don't plan to do any in the future unless there is a specific reason to do so. Griffin will finish his 6th round of chemo mid-August, and then wait 3 weeks to start the Yale vaccine. I'm not sure if he can take Auranofin before the vaccine - I'll have to ask. Griffin's oncologist was planning to reach out to the Australian vet, Dr. Ron Straw (https://cai.cen...../rod-straw), who co-authored the original study. Leanne (Grace's mom) wrote that their oncologist was in direct consultation with him, so I'm hoping he has continued to work with Auranofin and might have updated information to share. I hope you have some fun adventures planned with Arktik, and as always, please post videos and photos of your handsome boy! Stacy

Hello Everyone,
We have been quiet on the blog and the forum because we are too busy enjoying life and the summer. Arktik is still doing well and enjoying every days! He think the summer is a bit hot to his taste (especially that he has not shed his winter coat..I think the chemo probably affected that..) but other than that we are all having a good time together.
Here are some videos of our daily walks/runs..Arktik always love the coyote dry poop...best thing to roll in! He probably think he is part of the pack haha
Grinning ear to ear seeing how blissfully happy Artik is "being one with Coyote poop"!!! OMD!! Pure bliss!!! Pure joy!!!😂 Made my day!
He is such a handsome boy. So beautiful inside and out❤
Hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Hi Patricia! Those videos made me smile - Arktik looks so happy! And he does the flop over to the ground just like Griffin! Haha - look at Arktik rolling in the coyote poop. I like that you can actually see it in the video! Gotta let dogs do the gross stuff - they just get so much joy out of it. I must admit - Copper loves eating deer poop and I don't always deny her the pleasure... It's so pretty where you live - just perfect for Arktik's impressive tripawd running skills.
I apologize Patrica for being so far behind. Arktik looks amazing as I knew he would. He looks so happy! And by the sound of your voice you seem happy and proud too!
We are all so happy when our tripawds do well, but sometimes we forget why they are doing so well. It's the human taking such good care of them, and the strong connection and love. I can definitely recognize the bond you and Arktik have!
And yes keep the videos coming.
My Beautiful Beloved Brownie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on February 26, 2019. With all odds against him he lived an additional one year and eight days with amputation, love, and prayer. I was honored to be his mom, and I have never been so proud! He will live forever in my Heart!

"March Saint"
Thanks Nancy for the nice words. I think our bond only strengthened during this ordeal (probably just like many of you as well), in part because I think he realizes that we helped him but also with the whole COVID thing we have been together pretty much all the time. I can't say how thankful I was to be able to stay with him 24/7 during his recovery and after.

Arktik and Copper would probably agree on what is great to eat and roll in 😉 And same as you, he looks so happy doing this kind of stuff I don't always deny him the pleasure haha
With this year being so different we have decided to take a short vacation in 1 week with Arktik at the beach on one of the Great Lake in Ontario. (Usually I love to go in Maine just enjoying the beach/sun/waves..but unfortunately not this year). I have never been where we are heading next week but it is really great they have 2 sections of the beach that are open to dogs (and it is a very nice beach with blond sand, clear water and even enough waves to surf sometimes...just no salt water. And we booked an hotel where dogs are allowed with a dog park right next to it! I am so excited! Great videos and photos to come
Oooooh that sounds like a great vacation! Can't wait to see pics!

Hi Patricia and Arktik. Arktik looks wonderful and so athletic! I'm thrilled to see him doing so well. Your vacation sounds wonderful. We went on a vacation in the fall with our dogs and it was such fun. I felt like the whole family was together. Jake and Oscar sat in the back seat on the way there and back and looked out the windows....Just like my kids used to do Plus all of the fun things we did together...You'll love it! It looks like you're enjoying this beautiful weather. Have a wonderful vacation!
Hello Everyone!
We have not been really good give updates about our adventures lately but all is well. So I apologize for the long post (we have some catching up to do). Arktik and I have just been enjoying the best time during this summer! We did a little vacation at the beach in Ontario. We booked a pet friendly hotel that was right next to a giant dog park. We had the best time.
Here are some photos and videos of our little vacation
Out set up at the beach 🙂 Arktik has been. such a good boy the whole time. We were switching between going in the water a little and relaxing in the shades on the towel.
This husky even got my hat to protect his face from the sun...(obviously he could not lie down completely in the shades haha)
Arktik posing with the view
Enjoying a little walk on the main beach!
Arktik seems perfectly happy lying down on our bed in the hotel room (we brought his bed too but apparently he likes the luxury of the hotel bed)
Me and Arktik relaxing, this is the little pet friendly beach! Super fun and perfect sandy beach for pups who like to enjoy quiet water.
And finally some time at the dog park with friends!
This sums up our little vacation! Other than this we have been doing our daily walk (early in the morning because this summer has been so hot). Arktik seems happy and energetic, the only thing lately is that he got picky with his food again. So this is always a worry for me as I never know if it is because he does not feel well or if he just got tired eating his food (which he has done often in the past). He's showing appetite for other food (i.e. our meals;) So.. considering he seems good other than that I try to not worry too much (I'm sure some of you can rely getting worried over the smallest thing right?)
I will give you more updates soon! With more photos and videos 🙂 As the temperature is cooling down here, Arktik and I will be able to go for more daily adventures!
