We took Tasha to the vet for a recheck, her biopsy results we in and it is with a total broken heart that I have to post that Tasha was diagnosed with another cancer, Hemangiosarcomas.

I just feel so lost right now, it's hard to believe that as we are only days away form Tasha's 19 month ampuversary thinkng that she beat the odds and feeling very blessed for those 19 extra months that we will now lose her to another cancer other than osa which she has been battling for all these months. I feel she was cheated. This all feels so unfair.

Today Tasha is happy, she got her hamburger for being good again at the dr, she doesn't no she is sick, we will just continue to love our girl and make the most of every moment.

Jo Ann & Tasha

Tasha 8 years old, First cancer diagnosis 6/26/09, Last cancer diagnosis 9/26/09, Amputation 10/01/09, Loving our girl moment by moment.

Tasha lost her battle and became my Angel on May 4 2011. Forever in my heart….

Jo Ann, I am so sorry.  I really don't know what to say to you.  I can only suggest that you try as hard as you can to stay pawsitive.  Like you said, Tasha doesn't know she's sick, all she knows is that she loves her Mom and Dad more than anything.  Be there for her, and enjoy whatever time you have left with her.  Tasha and her loving family will be in our prayers.

I am heartbroken for you and with you.  Your fear has to be astronomical at this point, but don't let it rob you of this time while Tasha feels good.  You still have time to develop some wonderful memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Know I am with you.  Know I will be sending you strength each day. Give that precious girl a hug for me.

I have checked often to see if you had an update. I'm so sorry it wasn't the happy one we all hoped for. I can't imagine having to go through this a second time, but you are being very strong for Tasha and she will feel your strength. She's so very lucky to have you caring for her.

Jo Ann .. our hearts ache for you. And this is not just lip service. I believe that everyone here truly aches for you during this time. I know that right now thoughts such as I am about to speak of are not foremost in your mind, but whenever I begin to feel overwhelmed by any issues Cooper is going through - I rewind back to 2 weeks before Cooper had his amputation and the overwhelming grief I felt in believing that he was going to be leaving us very soon... and then I fast forward back to now and as I fast forward I remember each month after surgery, each hurdle , each scare, each doggie kiss and hug , each tear each laugh, and realize what a rich rich relationship was wrought out of this disease. I know its hard , but try to enjoy each and every single moment that you share with Tasha, watch her reaction as you move to her to spend time with her... I am sure her reaction will be full of love and zeal. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and we send our very warmest thoughts. I pray that nothing I say here belittles the grief that you feel because that is the very furthest from my mind to do - I only wish to help you embrace each of the 19 months you have been blessed with... if I have spoken out of line , please accept my sincere apologies

Oh Jo Ann,

I'm just so very sorry.  It's breaks my heart.  This is crushing news.

Tasha did conquer OSA!  And you've been the best mommy to her during it!  It's not very comforting but it's true.

Please give her a big hug and a kiss from me.  And tell her she has been the best trucker dog in the whole wide world!   She brought us, over here in Cometland a lot of smiles through this journey.

If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask.

Her Retired AvatarComet - 1999 to 2011

She departed us unexpectedly  January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.

She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.

The Tripawd Nation's collective heart mourns right now Jo Ann, this is so terrible, I'm so sorry. That damn hemangio strikes again, it's just so tragic.

Nobody knows how long we have on this earth, so every day must always be lived as if it was our last. Dogs intrinsically know how to do this. Tasha knows, she is showing you how to cope. Follow her lead, give her all the love you've got and remember that there will be time for tears some day far, far away. Now is the time to Be More Dog .

Hamburgers for everyone in honor of Tasha, we still need to celebrate that ampuversary darnit!

Did the surgery help control the bleeding?  Continuing an NSAID may help reduce tumor spread (as could oral chemo), but some NSAIDS cause increased bleeding times.

It does seem very unfair to have to deal with another cancer!  I am so sorry for the news.

Joann, so sorry to hear the news, maybe being a dog isn't so bad at a time like this, at least they don't know whats going on and think about prognosis and time lines, they just live for the day and their next meal, along with wanting to be with us, in a way sounds like a pretty good life, just sucks they have to deal with this crap while doing it. Our thoughts are with you, Spirit Gus and Dan

My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010

The word "Hemangiosarcomas" wasn't a part of my vocabulary until 3 1/2 weeks ago. I am so sorry to read that now Tasha has to deal with this type of cancer. Enjoy every moment with your little girl, and give her lots of belly rubs. My heart continues to ache for you.

Sending you lots of golden hugs.
