The vet called this evening after finding getting all of the test results back and looking at the x-rays. It's confirmed that it's hemangiomasarcoma and it has metastized throughout much of Kodiak's body. The vet agreed wholeheartedly that Kodiak's diet of rich fatty food is exactly what he needs right now, and that if Kris wants to try chemo or any other treatment that he thinks may help that she's more than willing to give it a try. She did say that she has never seen chemo work on hemangiosarcoma, but she'd try it if we wanted to.
Oh Bev, we are truly sorry to hear the diagnosis, it's heartbreaking.
Are you still going to seek a second opinion?
We don't know how chemo would or wouldn't help in this case, but we are firm believers in holistic medicine's ability to improve quality of life when conventional medicine can't.
I guess what it comes down to though, is, what does Kodiak want to do?

Bev, I'm so sorry the report wasn't better. Keep a positive attitude and enjoy each moment. Kodiak is lucky to have such a great family to care for him.

It looks like today may be the day. Kodiak is not doing all at well. If he does happen to make it through the night, Kris has decided that we will take him into the vet first thing in the morning. I actually think we may wind up at the emergency vet much sooner than that.
It greatly concerns me that Tigger was growling at something this morning that no one but her could see.
🙁
Peace & Love
