Hope you had a nice vacations Zeus. We are going on a short trip in a couple of days.
I am doing so well we posted a video of my hoppin and howlin. At the bottom of this page... Max C
A quick little update for anyone who's read Max's story.
He has made a great recovery and is still doing very well. We went for a lovely walk in the forest the other day. He was in his element. He is just as cheeky as ever.
Will post a new picture soon in his posh harness. His ruffwear harness is superb - a must for any tripaw I would say.
Bye for now.
A very happy Maxwell

Yeah! Cool news Maxwell, thank you so much for the update.
The forest was the first place I tried my harness out too! Mom and Dad were so happy the way it helped me get over and around logs and rocks and stuff.
Send some photos of you soon! We're so hoppy you're loving life, my friend!

Hey great to hear the good news Maxwell! How far are you able to go with your harness? I am doing OK without one, but it is probably a bit different with a rear legger like me. We went to the forest last month, but did not go very far on walks. Maybe a harness would help me not get tired too fast?
I just started round 3 (of 4) chemo. I just love any excuse to get in the car even if it is for that! Side effects are not too bad...little loss of appetite for a couple of days and runny stools...no big deal. I am doing great! X-rays still clear. Both Maxes are happy tripawds!
Waiting for some pics with your harness!
Cheers - Max C
Hi there,
a quick update...
Generally doing well - I have my ups and downs - the cold weather is a nuisance - the slippery ice is a nightmare - mum puts my harness on though and had to put some old duvet covers over the icy back step.
Most days I am back to my usual self. The farmer (who I bark at a lot) was chatting to my dad the other day at the gate. I gave him a few warning barks as usual and raced over. The farmer said - "has he got a bit of a limp?" we did laugh - he had totally forgotten about my op. and not even noticed that I am now on 3 legs!!!
My best wished to you all - I will try and sort out another photo for you. Bye for now...
Max
I just wanted to say hello, I am afraid I've not visited his fantastic site for a while - it's been updated I see and is even better. Max is still with us, he has slowed up a lot - but then he is an older gentleman now. We have never looked back from his operation - and several years on Max has had a good extra few years of quality time with us.
Good luck to all new tripawds and best wishes to everyone from your old friend Maxwell

Hello Maxwell,
Great to hear you are still doing well! Enjoy your golden years! It has been quite a while for me on the site as well. We lost our Max coming up on a year ago and think of him often. Maybe we will get another boy someday. Hope all is well Jerry.
Cheers,
Max C
Oh Max C.
So sorry, I am crying again. I felt that Max C, Zeus and Maxwell were very good friends on this forum - we all went through a lot together didn't we? It's very nice to hear from you and I hope that eventually another pack member comes along. You can never replace your lovely boy but there are many dogs out there who need caring pawrents like you! I cannot imagine your pain - I am sobbing so much after reading about Zeus and Max C and I'm so sorry that I wasn't there for you - as you have always been for me.
Thank you for your continued support - we send you our love from Scotland.
Max C and Zeus were both such lovely dogs and will continue to provide hope and inspiration to many more pawrents.
Maxwell

I have been dreading posting this last message – but I feel there needs to be a full stop under Max's story.
On Monday we had to say goodbye to our beautiful boy. His back legs finally gave out and he was no longer able to get around on his own. I know that everyone on this site will fully understand my feelings.
Max was simply the best dog I have ever known. He was my best friend and fiercely loyal to the end. His spirit was so strong – he was such a personality and a very brave dog. Everyone who knew Max has been deeply affected - testament to the kind of dog he was.
There is such a void now that he has gone. I was glad that I had the strength to make that final call – I had worried that I wouldn't be able to do this as he is such a large part of my life and I love him so very much but I couldn't see him suffer and didn't want to see Max fade away or be in pain.
Thank you again for everyone's kind help on this site. It seems a very long time ago that we faced the agonising decision and I am so grateful that we had those extra years with Max – he still had a great quality of life on three legs and never lost his zest for life and spirit of fun.
I hope Max's story gives some hope and encouragement to others.
Max I love you more than words can ever say and I miss you.
