Oscar had his surgery today and things went well. Not sure when he is coming home but I just want to thank everyone who posts.  I have been reading up on as much as I can and this website has been so helpful in getting me through the difficult decision to amputate and prepared for what's to come.  I have been busy trying to get ready for Oscar to come home - although I am nervous about those first few days. I know it won't be easy but I feel better knowing I have this amazing resource here with all its members to help me get through it.

So glad to hear Oscar's surgery went well!  That phone call when it's over is such a relief!  Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as this next part of the journey unfolds.  Keep a pawsitive attitude around Oscar he'll feed off your emotions.  If you stay calm and positive so will he.  We'll be here if you need us!  Don't worry you've got this!  Hugs!
