Yesterday, we hit 14 weeks. It was also the first sunny day we've really had. We celebrated that by going to the park to try some off-lead walking and some "swimming." Granted, it took longer to get from the park entrance to a parking spot than Sam actually WALKS, but you know...it's the outing that matters. :-)

Compared to the halcyon days of his youth, he's less big and more bald...but he's still beautiful. <3

And, really, despite it all, he's a pretty happy crotchety old man. (<--you'd THINK that was a contradiction in terms, until you've had the pleasure of meeting Sampson :D )

Watch out, Kate Upton...I think we have our next SI Swim Suit Edition cover model!

:D That is totally sadie (our other dog). She is such a bitchy princess attention whore. :p

Sam is just...stubborn. Stubborn, and set in his ways. Stoic, I guess...but that lacks the elements of silly and neurotic that color his character from time to time. Very non-demonstrative (esp. in contrast to our she-devil), and non-attention seeking. He REALLY doesn't know why lately I fawn over him and get weepy at him and all huggy. He doesn't know, and he doesn't want me to do it. Again, the philodendron with fur is a very apropos nickname. His personality is very much why I love him--he loves you, he wants to be near you...but he doesn't DEPENDONYOURCONSTANTATTENTIONANDTOUCHINGANDPETTINGEVERYMINUTEOFEVERYSECOND. laughing

But at the same time, he clearly loves his people (well, again...you have to know him--and be in his "trust tree" to see it, but it's there) and has an enjoyment of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (and rabbits). :p

Still waters run deep, I suppose. ;-)

Awww, Samdog has a confidence about him that I just love. He is the wise old dog with so many lessons to share, like "Stop fawning over me Mom and let's go have FUN darnit!"

I love this, thank you for today's dose of miracle x3. He's just so cool.
