Happy Birthday Seamus!!! I am so happy he is doing well, that is just the best news. He is rocking 15 like a star, and it sounds like he is quite happy. It is so good to hear from you, I agree.. if you have time you should start a blog so that others can read about this special kitty.
Hugs,

Hi there!
Just a quick drop in to let you know that Seamus is well and fast approaching his 17th birthday.
As you'd expect at this grand age he's slowed up somewhat and grumbles occasionally because he's a bit arthritic (sitting like a milking stool has its drawbacks). His favourite party piece for the time being is to thump upstairs, stand outside the bathroom and YELL until somebody opens the door, fills the (clean) soapdish with fresh water and places it on the floor so that he can drink. Having slurped some and sloshed the remainder over the floor, he proceeds to the en-suite where he does exactly the same! There is, of course, a perfectly suitable bowl of water in the kitchen but, no, that's not what our spoilt furball wants...
He also has a new love! Our son and his girlfriend moved in 10 weeks ago, just before the UK locked down. As GF has a severe cat allergy, in the past when they visited, Seamus would have a holiday at the cattery (a place he does like to visit as the owner has a soft spot for him). We held offsending his this time to see if her reaction would remain as bad as before. After six weeks and lots of antihistamine, her allergy is under control which is just as well as they adore each other and he spends 90% of his day seeking out her company and shedding fur on everything in sight.
All in all, the old boy's doing alright. Still purring, still snuggling, still making us smile.
Stay well, stay safe.
Lots of love from Seamus and Deborah xxx

Hi guys!
Thought you'd appreciate an update. Seamus is now 19+ and thriving despite developing a slight heart murmur, overactive thyroid and a bit more arthritis over the last couple of years. He prefers to stay indoors and snooze most of the time - understandable at his great geriatric age - but he's still here and still purring...our three legged miracle!
We gifted him with Bramble, a 1 year old rescue terrier, for his 18th which didn't go down too well for the first couple of months. Nevertheless it didn't take long for them to become buddies, and she was a quick learner in the art of the nose boop! He takes delight in presenting her with his face and ears for daily cleaning. I'm convinced he's benefitting as much from her company as she is from his.
We know we're very lucky to continue to have him in our lives and hope to post again positively next year.
lots of love

WOW! Appreciate the update? Oh my gosh we are ELATED! Super duper happy that Seamus is thriving on three and showing the world what senior cats are made of! And a new sibling too? He's a great kitty for eventually accepting Bramble into his heart. What a magnificent kitty!!!
If you'd like to share photos here or if it's difficult then just email me photos I would love feature him in Tripawd Tuesday. So many people look for stories like him when trying to decide on amputation for their senior cat. Seamus totally inspires!
