We were only on Palladia about a week.  The mets tore Otis' lungs.  Surgery was possible, but under the circumstances, just didn't seem the right idea.  Otis was having some indigestion, but he had also had some in the couple of weeks before the mets were diagnosed, no hard to say.

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Wherever they are, they are together.

Sorry Otis didn't have more of a chance with the Palladia. It seems pretty hit or miss from what I've read.

Rocky was feeling relatively well last night. Not as good today, but better than the last few days. I think mornings are just going to be rough going forward.

He has two ampuversaries today. It was 8 years ago today that I brought him home for the first time to begin fostering him (and obviously I wound up adopting him). And he became a Tripawd 5 months ago today. I'm going to need to pick up some more ice cream on the way home from work.

YAAAAAAAAAY FOR ROCKY!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 This just lights up my world today!!! 🙂 🙂

Yet more examples of why we call this journey a roller coaster ride....ups...downs....good days...less good days....ugh! Believe it or not, this pattern does become a little less stressful for the human as they recognize, considering the wide range of circumstances in each case, this becomes the "new normal" and not so scary!

And Rocky could, indeed, still have tweaked something too! 🙂 So don't get too wild and crazy Mr Rocky!! 🙂

VIDEO!! WE MUST HAVE VIDEO OF ROCKY'S SPECIALTY OF ROLLING OVER HIS BALL!!!! 🙂

HUGS!

While I look for a video (surely I have one of him rolling on his ball) here's a couple of photos. I think these are right after I first adopted him.

Picture update time.

He's still not crazy about his kibble, but I'm having better success getting him to eat it. But we've discovered something else he loves to eat: Cicadas!

This is him tonight, very proud of himself, after catching and eating not one, but two cicadas.

He's in desperate need of a haircut, which is coming Thursday.

The news isn't all good, however. As I mentioned in one of the other threads, he rolled off the bed Sunday morning. Just a loud THUMP! and no more Rocky up there with me. The fall didn't seem to hurt him, but while I was checking him out, I found another lump - this time on his left side. I've sent a picture of the spot to his oncologist. My fear is this is a new tumor, which likely means the Palladia is no longer working.

Edit: Back to good news. The 14th was his six-month ampuversary. We celebrated with some CFA grilled nuggets.

OMD ROCKY!!!!   That look says it all!   YOU REALLY ARE PROUD  OF YOURSELF!! 🙂   Quite smug about the whole thing! 🙂  Cicadas catcher extraordinaire!! 🙂

Not sure avout this whole haircut thing.  Afterall, that extra bit of fluff may have protected you when you fell off the bed!!'  My goodness Rocky, you must have been in a mighty deep sleep dreaming about jumping into a whole pool of Cicadas!! 🙂

I think it's about time for a "lump"'to just be a lump.....a nice B-9 lump!   From the looks of how happy you are in photo, you are feeling just fine, regardless of lumps.  We're all cheering for your cute self Rocky! 🙂   And you keep these cute photos coming, okay??  You are a real smile maker around here! 🙂

Sending hugs......and a truckload of Cicadas! 🙂

Rocky looks so pleased with his cicada snack. Mmmmmmm, protein!

I'm thinking positively that the lump is just a cyst and you can just keep smiling along with beautiful Rocky.

Happy 6 month ampuversary David and Rocky!!

Awh Rocky, we love you buddy! The pictures of him in the grass are so sweet- he was obviously thrilled you adopted him. The cicada snack pic is so funny, he can have all my cicadas! I hope that his lump turns out to be nothing.

so happy for you both, Happy Ampuversary that's great!

He looks quite pleased with himself, I must say! Hope the lump is no big deal - let us know how we can help!

mmmmmm, crunchy munchy cicadas!

Perhaps we should add cicadas to the list of things to try when new tripawds lose their appetites.

Happy 6 months Rocky!

Do you think he rolled off the bed or maybe hopped off?  My quad-pug Tani walked off the bed a couple of times before I realized she couldn't see where the bed ended.  I had to put a night light in to keep her on the bed.

I hope the bump is just a bump.

Awe I've been wondering how handsome Rocky with the soulful eyes has been doing!  We don't have those insects here in WI unless they're what we call grasshoppers but they must be yummy to Rocky.  Praying for a B9 lump for Rocky & you!

I'm pretty sure he fell. He was laying on his belly on the floor with a startled look on his face. He gets up in the middle of the night and moves to the edge for some reason. I slept on the edge last night and blocked his path. So yeah, he got the majority of the bed.
