Pucina came home today! She is doing great! She is not painful and is following us around the house as much as she can. She is napping now.
Here is a video of her leaving the clinic. Even her home vet, who knows how special she is, could not believe how well and fast she got up and around.

I think the worst part for us is how much they shaved her. We are not used to seeing her so nakey. 😉 Although I admit, I love the way her skin feels.
She looks GREAT!
Kathi and Murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
Doing great Pucina! Get some rest - You are going to dojust wonderfully!
Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.
Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.
Wow look at her go!!!
Don't worry, the fur will grow back soon.

WONDERFUL UPDATE! Quite an exceptionally good job of walking!! Love this video!!
You'll still jave some rough days and nights ahead as meds adjust and the she starts to recover from major surgery. For the moment though, it looks like you'll need to MAKE her rest and take it easy! Nice challenge to have, huh?
Yeah, their skin is "baby soft"! It seems they always get a little carried away with the shaving...Happy Hannah even had more shaved than that! But that just meant more soft skin to nuzzle!
HUGS TO ALL!
Sally and Happy Hannah
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Ahhhh! She's gorgeous! And Jackson's twin: also black, right rear leg amp, and comfy-cone graduate! We were lucky enough that he was zonked and too tired during recovery to care about his wound for about a week. We went without that cone for that whole time. Then, we only had to use it at night, as I was able to work at home and monitor my buddy.
I hope you have a smooth recovery! She's already looking strong and adjusted! That's a good sign. But be prepared for some down times....take it slow. And come back and tell us all about her (with MORE pics and vids!).

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
