I need to share something with those who willl understand....

Tonight, for the first time since her amputation, Darcy has actually wandered around a little bit (as opposed to only getting up when she really has to - either to go out to the bathroom, go to eat or go for a walk) and - the most exciting part - she actually went and put her head in the toy box to have a look what was in there Laughing

It's *such* a little thing for most dog owners but seriously, we've waited over ten months to see this tiny weeny bit of normal behaviour and when she did it tonight, even though she didn't get a toy out, I wanted to tell everyone who would understand.

It really doesn't take much to please me when it comes to Darcy *blush*

Yeah Darcy that's AWESOME!!! That is not a small thing that is huge. Keep going girl. I know what you mean about not taking much to smile. When I hear Titan's tail thumping on the floor it reminds me how lucky I am to have him.

Don't be silly. It's these little things that make us smile, and make everything we go through with our three legged friends worthwhile. Thanks for sharing!

...and I bet you cried! I am thrilled at every accomplishment/act of familiarity that Zeus has and does - even if it's just begging for an ice cube! We totally understand and share your thrill and happiness. Thank you for the wonderful news - as I sit here working this late at night on a deadline, it's such a nice reminder of what is important in life...the little things that aren't really that little at all.

Super sloppy kisses!!!

Yaay Darcy!!  We definitely understand and cheer with you.  Even when he scares me by doing things I worry would make him fall, I have smile at Radar too because I know he is just being himself.  Darcy, being Darcy is just taking her own sweet time about things but she's getting there.

Yay Darcy!  And we completely understand... and that's a huge thing that you put your head in your toy box!

The first day we got him home, I turned my head for a second and Smokey somehow got himself up and was at the water dish drinking water.  I totally missed the whole thing and I only had my head turned for a second!  I think I'm crazy when I cheer for Smokey after he goes to the bathroom after having not gone for a few days!  He never has any issues urinating but I think it had been almost 4 or 5 days since he had a successful bathroom break.  And when that happened, we all cheered for him 🙂
