I am so very sorry. Cancer can play so unfairly. I know nothing can take away the pain you are feeling right now but just know that you gave Chance a wonderful life full of love and security. That means everything to our beautiful pups. The emptiness can be hard to bear. We are hear for you if you need to write more about all that has happened or about the wonderful life you guys shared.
Thinking of you and sending you many hugs.
Karen and Spirit Magnum
Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. My beloved heart dog, see her memoirs from Rainbow Bridge ...... http://princess.....pawds.com/
Thank you all so very much for the kind words. My grandaughter says that Chance is now with her Meemaw (my mom) who passed away 3 years ago.
It means a great deal to talk to others who love their furry family as much as we do. Some people do not understand the lengths we have gone to in trying to save our Chance. I have heard so many people say "Why? It's just a dog!" I even heard our neighbors whispering about it when we first brought him home as we struggled to get him and us adjusted to his only having 3 legs. Some don't understand the bond, nor that we will give up material belongings to care for our pets and spend every last dime we have to try and save their lives.
I found a picture on facebook that said: "He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion." I have never come across any more truthful words than those...
Thank you for allowing me to talk. I wish I had found this community sooner than just a few days ago...it would have made my journey a bit easier, taken some of the uncertainty away. Bless you all, and your beloved little tripawds, if they are still here, I wish you all the best and if they are not, then my baby is now running free with them....
I am so sorry for you loss. Run free and be healed Chance. He awaits you at the Rainbow Bridge.

Bobbi, I was just thinking the same thing, I wish you had found us sooner. As you cope with your grief, know that we totally understand what you are going through. You are more than welcome to come back here anytime to talk, to share stories about Chance, or whatever. You and Chance will always be a part of the community
